Not too sure which of these to go for now... ive seen a few vids on youtube of a capri with a holset turbo and it goes like fook!

from wht ive seen the vids of the cossie v6 capri's dont look all that fast? im more interested in how the car gets to the speed rather than the top speed itself  plus i already have a mildly tuned 2.1 pinto.

i know its not just a matter of bolting on a turbo but its not just a matter of bolting in a cossie v6 either?

whats your opinions?

Anyone on here fancy making me a exhaust manifold then? ive seen them on ebay but theyre almost £400!

T3 Flange :D

also needing a 5ierra EFI system and a fook off intercooler.

and i heard something about a 200zx or 200sx one bieng the same fit? can anyone shed some light?

Oh yeh and the other thing is, i have a 2.1 NON-205 block. that has oversized pistons, i know that 2.8 pistons will fit straight in and also have a slightly lower compression hieght that standard, which is what i need as its quite high comp at the mo. but would the height difference of these pistons be enough to lower the compression enough?

Turbo Pinto.

An intercoolers an intercooler mate, its just different pipework. The size just depends on how much metal your prepared to cut out or where you can mount it.

Unless your going for a steel bottom end your not going to be making silly boost anyway. So i cant see why the 2.8 pistons wont do the job.

ive got a big valve head thats ported and polished and fast road cam, will this work ok with a turbo? how do you work out the CR of a 2091cc engine with 2.8 pistons and a unskimmed head?

im rebuilding a 205 block bottom end to put it on now anyway, new rings, shells, bore it to 2091cc to take the 2.8 pistons, no im not intending to make it stupid, unless 200bhp+ is stupid?

its either 2.8 pistons or oversized cossie pistons which wont be cheap ;)

I know people go on about having to use the cossie ecu but can you map it at all?

If not you could always use an aftermarket ecu with a supercharger, or modify a turbo technics kit to fit. Best of both worlds

V6

cheaper to fit

cheaper to run

cheaper to reapir (but only just)

will go wronge less often

easyer to drive (put your foot down at any speed and revs and just GO )

did i mention the V6 will be cheaper and easyer

not sure about the cam, guess its not too lairy.. probs best a custom one tho

if the compressions to high, you hay need a compression plate? but i doubt that  maby a thicker gasket

not sure if 200 bhp t the flywheel will be stupid, some one said if i turbo'd my xfow (what i was seriously concidering) i coudl acheive 170 + bhp at low boost

you will have a pm in a sec :thumbsup:

Or you can use a renault 5GT turbo carb with a slightly bigger main jet. It even bolts to a 1600 pinto manifold aparently (the one for the single choke carb) and the economys not too bad either from what i hear.

i know it bolts to a 11 xflow carb, if thats the same it should

hmmm, well we will see, judging by the state of the car, it will be a little while and a lot of metal and welding before an engine goes in the hole anyway. i like the idea of the torque of the v6, just also like the idea of spinning and the chirping and popping everywhere after the turbo decides to kick in :D

another thing im not too sure on, i have 2 capri's but one of them is a donar. the one i am planning to use as a donar, (few panels, bonet, axle ratio) has a very badly bodged passenger sill, a few holes in the a-posts and the roof (sunroofed) is a bit warped and bubbled, also gone by the boot hinge,

the 2.8i i have has a mint interior, mint roof, but the front end is absolutely rotten. plus its a 2.8i with LSD, AP 4 pots, and the rest of the underneath is mint.

thanks for all your replies so far
