Sintered, I think, is the material the clutch is made from if the brake pads on my downhill bike are anything to go by.

Sintered brake pads = Metallic material, hard wearing but not as grippy, take longer to bed in.

Organic brake pads = Organic compound, grippy as fook, need replacing alot, bed in really really quick (as I found out on the weekend).

Clutch wise I would of thought it would be similar, except you'll have Ceramic and Sintered.

Sintered is a technical term for powdered metal, clutches and brakes are made from a AlluniniumBronze composite,

Sintered things are made using a metal powder which is basically squashed in a die and heated at the same time, can use all sorts of different additives to make different properties to the finished article :thumbsup:

Its not just powered metals fella. We have a sintering machine at work and we use it to sinter solid metals together.

Basically the sintering process is the fusion of metals under intense pressure and heat.

We also use Argo-shield light gas in the process that gives you a very clean, almost spotless join between the metals.

Class dismissed :lol::thumbsup:
