I've just been browsing the member list by number of posts :woohoo: I'm on page 3 (but already beaten by Deuce SPAMMER coupe

But I noticed that if you sort by ascending, there are 149 pages & 2966 members who've never posted, and probably quite a few more who've only ever posted once.

What (if anything) can we do to encourage these members to come back and play an active role?

Lots of people join up and prefer not to post ... lurkers  Others see the name at the shows and join up just to see what we are about. Some peeps join up just to search the archives for information.

We are always open to suggestions on how we can improve or change the site (doesn't mean we will make all changes made) but we are happy to hear your ideas.

PM any one of the Admin team with your ideas and we will discuss them at our next meeting :D

if members don't post can they be reduced to a view only type membership ?

I think the objective should be to encourage them to play an active part rather than place restrictions for not doing so.

Variety and diversity are indeed the spice of life so the more people that post the better IMHO

what difference would it make as they dont post anyway ?

something that you could do , not sure if admin have the ability to do though is a mass email reminding people who havent posted in a while that we are still here .

not everyone remembers site addresses and maybe cant be bothered looking then they also forget there password ect . .

but you will always get lurkers who just like to look at posts rather posts themselves

A mass mail went out a couple of months ago reminding people of events etc up to the end of the year :D

Can you send a mass email out about the South west meet we're trying to get up and running. I've spent hours wading through the member lists sending PM's, but many of them don't get read coz the intended recipient doesn't log on. If an email were to go out though............... :D

To be honest i would not worry about it as there is not much you can do to make the site more welcoming, i have only been a member for just over a month and i am hooked, where as i have been registered on a couple of other ford forums for longer and hardly posted at all simply because it is a lot more fun and easy going on here, well done everyone :D

i've glanced over the site before but never registered till i saw it in the cf mag now i've been on and posting every day since and i,ve never spammed before either! downside wife keeps moaning and threatening to leave or should that be an upside ???.

I think it would be a good idea to get the bods at classic ford to do a big spread on the site that should bring some attention

yeah, i noticed the site through RF. there seemed to be a lot of those stickers round so i thought i'd see what it was all about.
