The very first episodes of the proffesionals had them driving British Leyland tosh as their regular steeds, because the deal with Ford hadn't been completed, a bad PR disaster for BL but not surprising.

I heard it was because BL couldn't garuntee the same cars from week to week for filming. So Doyle might be driving an SD1 in one seen, then a Metro in the next lol. That's why the producers approached Ford.

The production company was still stuck in a dea lwith BL from when the New Avengers finished i think?

As stated BL couldn't even get 2 TR7s to run for long enough to match them from scene to scene  no wonder they went under all those times :lol::lol:

OMG. There is somebody who is into Old Skool Fords who hasn't seen the Sweeney! I don't care how young you are, shame on you.....

Now go away and watch Dave for a few hours, you know it makes sense.

Even my 6 year old sits and watches the sweeney with me :D:D

He loves the old cars and keeps asking if i've had one of those or whats that one called Dad.

much prefer the sweeny, better story lines way more gritty and no poncy permed hair

there are two sweeny feature lenght episodes (movies), the first one being better - obviously  where regan drives a red mk1 escort into a skip after having a bottle of scotch funneled down his throat
