DAZZA Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 I was born into cars, grew up around cars, everyone knew I was into cars...... eat, sleep and dream of the damn things. So why the hell did the old man find it necessary to buy my mum a DAF! ..... and why did she find it necessary to pick me up from school in it? I was tortured for years. So come on..... own up to your parents cars from hell.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 My dad had a Daf 33, then a Daf 66 (Registration PCP2K). He then traded it in for a Datsun 100A, and then that for a Datsun 120Y. It was a cool car!

DAZZA Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 My dad had a Daf 33, then a Daf 66 (Registration PCP2K). He then traded it in for a Datsun 100A, and then that for a Datsun 120Y. It was a cool car! The old man was a service manager at volvo when they owned DAF and got the old part-ex's cheap. But I never thought people bought them intentionally?

Twinkle Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 i remember my dad having a lada! was a dark green with a tan vinyl interior. i beleived him for years when he told me it was leather!! that however wasnt the worst! he had an austin princess! the wedgie one was a proper rot box! can remember him buying it from the owner of the local motor factors and the guy still remembers it and gives me a good discount to say sorry for the trauma he caused me! dad bodged it up with newspaper and filler and chucked it in the auction during the miners strike and sold it to a miner i even remember the reg kkt 405p
bigglesmk2 Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 My dad had a mixture of good and bad car's and rarely kept the same car for more than 6 month's. the worst example's would be : montego estate nissan micra metro's fuago (i think that's how it's spelt) rover 214 (d reg, square piece of crap) But the best would be: Mk2 cappa Mk5 tina Mk1 xr2 Mk2 escort (2 door auto, bought for £20 ran it for abit then gave it me then i ran it for abit then gave it away ) And about 10 old tranny van's coz he's a fruit&veg man who drove 'em into the ground

mk3cokebottle Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 i can never remember a car that was embarrising really but there were a copule of close miss's ........... from when i can remember 5-6 mk4,mk5 tina estates mostly cream or brown with tan interior apart from a bright red one . 3x mk2 cappa's 2x mk3 3.0s cappa's at least 4 mk3 tina's that i can remember but there was one that i loved which was a all singing and dancing gt. varios mk1-2 escort estates and 2 mk2 saloons that i can think of , but there was also one that stuck out for me and that was a hunter estate which was just different ! 2x mk1 coupes and at least 5 mk2 saloons that i can think of had a volvo estate which was my first national banger so soon got rid of that . as i have grown up he has owned numurous osf's including zodiacs,zephyrs,consuls,mk1-mk2 granada's and the occasional transit . from when i was about 14 the cars have started to come away from th osf seen that he uses daily including a twink fitted lada estate , mitsi shoguns swb x2, couple of xr4x4's and then he has stuck with the trusty ol escort estate from about the mk4 upwards at the mo he is driving a mk6 gti estate and has a ford tbird along with the earliest known prototype zephyr convertable for the weekends so as you can see i have been born ford and i aint changing fa nuffink
