mk1rob Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Lowered the car 2" on the front now to match the rear. Only thing is, its gone lower than the back to give a nose down look. Looks kinda cool in a way but i might lower the back abit more. What you reckon? Also, may need to get new manifold made earlier than expected as i have 1.5" clearance Keeps the d*cks in BMWs off my arse when they get covered in sparks tho
hotrodholty Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 looks like you slammed on the brakes and its stuck like that
Trevmk3 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 looks alrite, are you going to get new stickers for it? was supprised to see it without

mk1mexico Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Looks good as it is i think, maybe another inch at the rear though Look like very heavy Cibies
Copey Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 looks good, like it with no vinyls, and as said the arse end needs droppin a bit more
D4N Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Think the rear need to go lower But yeh with out the stripes looks good.
caprinerd Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 drop it at the rear but tunnel the floor and set the exhaust in it
fezza Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Looks awsome mate I like it without the decals too
mk1rob Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 Cheers for the comments! What would be the safest way to lower it another inch on the back? Another 1" block or decambered springs? If decambered springs, can anyone recommend a place that does it? Cheers
Deano1351 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Gartrac does decambering, about £35 i think, heres a link http://www.gartrac.com/store/
mk1rob Posted October 13, 2008 Author Report Posted October 13, 2008 What i cant understand is, its got 2" blocks on the back but it doesnt seem to be as low as other peoples with 2" blocks? Does anyone know why this could be? Its got single leaf springs and bilstein turreted shocks if that makes any difference to ride height? Cheers
samurai Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 I have single leafs and -2 inch blocks as you can see in the picture, yours does look abit high...Looks amazing tho without stripes
Russian Bear Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Dont know where your based but try these guys: - Jones Springs (Engineering) Ltd. Gladstone Street, Darlaston West Midlands WS10 8BE T: 0121 568 7575 F: 0121 568 7692 E: sales@jones-springs.co.uk I had me 2x mk2 Zephyr multi leaves decambered 2 inch and renovated by them cost £99. then i added 2 inch lowering blocks aswell ooh aah aah...evil larf!!!
Boreham Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 any lower and you'll be dodging caterpillars next year.....
kevmk2 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Get them decambered and put a 1" block on it, should be level with the rim at the back then Some leafs are harder than others thats why some sit higher than others
mk1rob Posted October 14, 2008 Author Report Posted October 14, 2008 any lower and you'll be dodging caterpillars next year..... F**k practicality and all that! Cheers for the advise on decambering springs. ill look into it!
5hane Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 F**k practicality and all that! Cheers for the advise on decambering springs. ill look into it! just remember, if sparks dont fly, your way too high!
Gonzo Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Bah. I like the nose down look! Any lower and you'll not be able to drive it without constantly worrying about twatting the underside...
TwoLitrePinto Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 i would like the nose down look if it had some meaty back tyres to go with it but theres so much space there it makes the back wheel look lonely bieng so far out of the arch lower it to match the front and get a custom straight through made with no but the backbox and get them to make it sit right up. if your driving it on the road i would say bring the front up an inch
mk1rob Posted October 15, 2008 Author Report Posted October 15, 2008 Its the manifold that hangs down low and is the only thing that hits the ground on normal roads (minus speedhumps etc). Got a quote for a custom one today.......£500!! Think ill be gettin existing modified, unless anyone knows of any types that sit tight to the underside?
