Phone / internet help!!

Right, i have a wierd problem.

My landline has stopped working. I have tried 2 different phones now so it isnt that. My dog that im looking after had chewed the phone cable in several places (not severed it but it looked a bit mangle) so i renewed that.

Nope, i have the internet but no phone? How the hell does that work???

 

Also my internet has slowed considerably too?

The phone line has just 2 wires? i just thought it would have more than that! ?

Any help would be soooo much appreciated guys!

Sounds like a problem at the exchange or between the echange and your house, I've had similar problems both ways round (no phone but internet and phone but no internet)

 

Report it to your service provider in the morning and get them to run a diagnostic check on the line.

this happened to us with both the internet AND our phone. it was a problem at the exchange as was said. phone them up, its all you can do

copeys the same he cant get on his internet for some reason phoned bt and they were no help at all

yep it's your exchange, I have the same problem! Every number is saying it's not recognised. Luckily the internet and the phone are two different things.

pop the front off of your phone socket and try the service line.

The phone is completely dead. No display, no dial tone. Nothing!

im expecting a call today from BT so fingers crossed they can sort it, its costing me a fortune in mobile bills!!!!

as feelgood said, all day y-day my internet was off, phoned BT and they wer totally useless
