kirk10 Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 did mk2 transits come with a 205 block engine or would it of had an engine change in the past as a lad is selling 1 near me and its a 205 block
countrybumpkin Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 transits did have a 205 block but it could be a low compression unit
Admin Vista Posted October 20, 2008 Admin Report Posted October 20, 2008 arnt LC pintos 202 blocks Not necessarily LC transits (and P100's) also had 205 blocks.
lee 1 Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 best left alone then Still worth getting as 205 blocks are getting hard to come by.Plus if you are thinking of tuning it then new pistons would probably be on the cards anyway.

Copey Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 could always stay low comp and go turbo, lol
kirk10 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Report Posted October 20, 2008 can the head be used yes or is it best to try and get a injection head for it
Admin Vista Posted October 20, 2008 Admin Report Posted October 20, 2008 can the head be used yesor is it best to try and get a injection head for it It might already have an injection head, mine did.

countrybumpkin Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 it might not be a lc unit my 205 pinto is from a transit and thats hc trouble is you can tell till you get the head off but like everyone has said its still worth getting if your planing a rebuild as the only reall differences are the cam and pistons
tim Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 any pinto block is worth gettin now as 205 will be historic legal from next year on
Fishtailparka Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 and im pretty sure that 205 blocks are "Injection blocks" even though they came with a solex carb on the transit i think they are unleaded, which the older heads arent Not true. There's nothing to say they are unleaded. Some might be, but the 2 we had definitely weren't
TwoLitrePinto Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 ok just thought all 205 blocks were the later unleaded type now im confused lol
Fiesta Steve Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 The 205 block was used in many viehicles
NginEEr Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 all the unleaded pintos ive bought usually have a big green paint stripe on the back of the rocker cover if it hasnt been replaced or painted pmsl
