Guest chriscapriman Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 180 quid good all rounder the 2.0, i love mine, drive it every day at the mo even in the salt
richie_stix Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 i found my tired old 1.6 got LESS mpg's than the 2.0 i replaced it with, and the 2ltr had a lairier cam, and a head skim... reason being i had to push the 1.6 real hard to get anything, but i can get the same performance for very little effort out the 2.0...
caprinerd Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 whats the tax like on a 2.0 capri? roughly... is it expensive or ?? thanks 1.6 and 2.0 have the same tax bracket.Correct me if im wrong i dont pay for tax as its registered as a disabled car for my wife
Guest chriscapriman Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 all capris are 180 quid a year, even the 2.8
Takeshi Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Anything before 02 is from what I can remember, 1.4 and under is around £60 odd quid for 6 months. 1.6 and anything over, is £100 odd for 6 months. After 02 they go by emissions I've got a 1.6, and yes its a bit wheezy but I can live with it for now, and I'm young so insurance etc is a issue, cost's me £1380 a year Whatever you get, you'll love it. I know I did, and still do

I know I did, and still do 18 = £1350 insurance 19 = £800 20 = £600 21 = £400 got 2ltr 22 = £200 on a 1.6... but the difference between 1.6 and 2.0 was like £20 or summit?
jamesg Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 get a V6, you have'nt lived till you have a V6
caprinerd Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 get a V6, you have'nt lived till you have a V6 with a set of triples and feel the power and fuel go lol
Guest chriscapriman Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 until your on the motorway, a 2.8 5 speed doesnt feel (and isnt in a race) any faster than my 2.0 , ok ive had a bit of work done, but even a std 2.0 doesnt feel that much slower than a 2.8, certainly not as much as the price difference would suggest. 2.8 4 speeds are the ones to have i rekon, or 2.9 or 24v cossie conversion . until then, im kinda underwhelmed by the std 2.8 injector 5 speeds ive been in. plus, a v6 is roughly double the price of the equivilant pinto and you get those uncomfy on a long trip recaro seats all capris rule tho
richie_stix Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 get a V6, you have'nt lived till you have a V6 you haven't lived till you've beaten a v6 in a 4 pot but seriously, all capris rule! (as chris said!)
SmokeEm Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 you haven't lived till you've beaten a v6 in a 4 pot Screaming pinto FTW
lee_capri Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 you little boy's v8 all the way if i cant sell my small block's then il have to do anouther v8 cappa

I know I did, and still do Please tell me where you are taxing your cars, I will go there. Any capri will be £185 for a year, £101 for 6 months. If a 1.6L is registered at what it really is (1598cc or whatever, ie under 1.6L) it should be cheaper, but both my 1.6L say 1600 on the log book so it's £101 for 6 months. If in doubt trun the reg through the DVLA vehicle check online.
