Right then....i'm just going to try something here....

Because there is an Anglia on the cover, you assume it's all Anglias? Ignoring the Capri's and the Escorts and the show reports which are in there.

Some of you, you know who you are, are so fu.ucking quick and desperate to get a little dig in that you forget to actually look properly. And you're just as bad Phillips; yeah, an Editor, on the cover, actually contributing to the magazine, not just freelancing it all out.

And as for the rest of you, you're only having a dig because you know Bob, and you know Marty and you know Ben, and while you'd never actually admit it, you think, or at least you wish you could do better. But itnstead of looking at it as the great feature that it is you have to slam it, before you've probably even looked at it and for some odd reason, take it all very personally.

And before anyone chimes in, this is my forum voice and my opinion. I'm no part of the mag anymore bar a few old features which have to be used up. I have nothing to gain from this, I just feel it has to be said, mainly becuase I couldn't say it when I was on the mag.

I think you might have read my posts wrong there, Pollitt. It's quite a different cover, very brave, which is why I asked if it actually was the cover. And the shaved head dude looks like Birch... what more can I say.

You want to calm down a bit, you'll give yourself a heart attack.

I'll take your comments about editing on board though mate. You obviously know what you're on about.

I'm just going to go on record here and say that my days of forum arguments are long gone so I'm not about to start one or even get involved in one.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and trust me when I say that there is no bigger critic of me than myself.

When all is said and done, I'm ultimately just an enthusiast standing in front of a load of other enthusiasts trying to make a difference. And in doing that I tried something different with this months cover.

If anything, I felt that having four Escorts in this issue was a bit too many, but there you go.

Quite what that engine has got to do with the December issue of RF I'm not sure, but as this room seems to be used mainly for admin, and friends thereof, to make personal attacks on me, I guess that's fine.

Honestly guys, if you have got a problem and would like to chat about it: 01732 748000 and ask for me, life is too short after all.

P.s. Admin, could you please add James to the Retro Ford room moderators list. Thanks

As for this Issue of Retro Ford, here is what else is inside:

Duo of ultra rare Broadspeed Bullitt Capris

XE powered Mk2 Escort Estate

15 year build Mk1 Escort

US spec Mk2 Cortina estate Concours car

A pair of rally cars go mad

A look back at Fords in Hot Rod Racing

Montgomery Motorsport Company Profile

Rudskogen Track day report

Capri Club Gathering oop North

oh and we build an Anglia in two days

Hope that you enjoy

How you doing Mr Morley, having a bit of a Braveheart battlefield moment there.

I just wanted to say I like your cover. Dynamic and inspiring, and the headline's strong too. A winner I reckon.

Better than the previous month's which I thought was spoiled by the use of the word 'renounced' to describe the RS1800. But that one was still pretty good too. Keep up the fantastic work.

Thank you for your comments and yes I'm very aware of that flamingo up on last months front cover (like a cock up only much, much bigger).

There are a lot of excuses but ultimately the buck stops with me :shock: Some you win eh

How is life on the outside?

Yeah, those cock ups do happen.

Life's good mate. Miss the mag, but what you gonna do...

Did I hear right that you wanted the big job over at Retro Cars?

It was spoken about for a while yes. I have to say that I think that Simon J is doing a cracking job of its re-invention though

Only seen a few, it's not stocked many places. Was a great mag back in the day, let down by an Alfa overload by the end of Future's reign and my opinion of it now is best described as 'Huuuummmm'. To be honest it's gone very Unity, if you know what I mean. I'm sure you do.

Each to their own

So... Can we nudge this thread gently back in the direction of it's original title

If you want.

Shouldn't you be putting up a pic of the cover with a description of the content and signed off by a smiley icon to let your hoards of readers know what to expect? It's called marketing young man.
