Rick Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 are there any front wheel drive osf's out there, i know of a few 4x4's but wondered if anyone ever went against the grain and used a fwd engine up front
4parajon Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Think Rick means FWD engines in typically RWD Fords. Ive never heard of any (if thats what you meant) and can't think why you would bother as the inner wings would need serious work plus all the suspension geometry to get the thing working properly as there all tied in with the driveshafts.
Admin Vista Posted November 4, 2008 Admin Report Posted November 4, 2008 Didn't Doc have a 100E that had been converted to fwd using an XR2 running gear? Edit: Yes he did: - http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... hp?t=24602
Stu_B Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Yeah I dunno why but there's a few 100e's running FWD Xr2 gear
Rick Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 its good to be different and i know a lot of people will be dead against such an idea which is always good for a debate (not that i plan on doing it)
Kieran Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 there was also a red and white 100e with xr2 running gear aswell
Fiesta Steve Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 I've seen another 100e fwd, think it had the roof chooped off too ! ..and a CVH Turbo powered 100e, but can't remember if that was fwd or rwd.

caprinerd Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 think Dave Reeves( member on here) is running a 1.7 cvh in his mk1 festa and getting 14 second runs also there are a few zetec rear wheel drivers but dont know of any rear wheel drivers converted to fwd, but that aint to say there aint any
