I think the law has been lifted now.

 

I was thinking about CB radios as they could be great fun when on a run woth others. Maplins do some which are ok so i'm told.

 

Is it normal practice to have a CB Radio in the car?

i want a cb radio but i know nothign about them had a skeg on ebay and theres so many at so many prices im lost.

You need to watch that they're not classed in the same way as mobile phones are though.

as far as i know there not i've been using mine and passed cop cars and they have never done anything remember a lot of lorry drivers use them

you dont need a licence for cb`s now and if you get a power mike or have the debation tweaked you can hold the mike on your lap and chat

if you get a cb you will need a twig ( antenna) and also you will need to get the twig sward in you also need a mount and there are a few out there eg mags , gutter,static fix,

wiring is just basic live and earth, but then there`s burners( amps) to think about whether you think you need them, if your driving in convoy then you wont but if you want to chat to some one a distance away like 20 miles then you will

i remember when we all had AM cb's not the

FM one's they have now, + i had a cb ariel on

my boot lid a cop car went past + done a

quick u turn + chased me because of it!!!.

today you could prob have a bazooka on your

i was on AM before FM came legal and also was on side bands as well

i was a cb nut when i was younger and i like the idea of the fox hunt that takes me back years, as well as the mass eyeball meetings as well,

antz if your old man was on the he should be able to sware it in for you mate if you dont do the sware right you will loose power and also damage the rig to the point of a burn out
