i would of normaly said if you take it on the track you've got to expect it but having put my escort in the wall at castle combe i know you dont expect it to happen and i know how gutted he must have been

From all accounts, came out of clark curve and nailed it, got two wheels on the grass, held it ..held it .. and acording to one persons view it sounds like the self preservation chip in the brain took over and the foot went on the brakes, all four wheels locked and resulting crash ..

 

If the cars crashing..nver use the brakes .. the throttle is your friend.

Brakes at racing speeds should only be used when heading straight, if your out of shape, hitting the brakes is almost garrenteed to get you more out of shape... even more so if the wheels are on different surfaces

i can vouch for that as thats what i foolishly did and slid slid crunch but i guess braking is a natural reaction

i think next time that i do a track day, insurance is the first thing i get..... i belive that the guy did say that he had plans to put the engine and box in to a osf ....and yes the saff was a mint car . good luck to the guy with the transplant......
