So what if it doesn't idle perfectly smoothly?...if it cuts out just start it again  Ive run a bcf2 cammed xflow for years everyday and its fine  ...it will idle smoother on twin 40s than a twinchoke by the way  , ive also run a pinto on a fr32 cam everyday with a 38dgas with no choke in the winter...you get used to it :D ...once you get used to it you'll wonder what the fuss was about , the power increase will be worth it

Retromotorsport is right, a video of a BCF3'd xflow idling won't be a good yardstick. There are too many variables to consider that could make one idle like a Pig and the other idle like a dream. I've got a 244 cam and that idles fine, if I took a video of it (at idle) you wouldn't be able to tell.

BCF2, BCF3 or 234 are all fine for road use once properly set up (as mentioned by Antz). I used to have a 234 and it had wicked amounts of torque and is probably the best street cam but the pistons do usually have to be pocketed which is an extra expense. I would have thought the BCF3 is much the same as far as the spread of torque is concerned.

PS merry xmas

I used to have a 234 cam in a 1390xflow on a 28/36dcd and that was sweet as a nut. It was my daily runner for 3 years until the car was retired to just a play thing.

This time around I decided to go for a 244 cam in a 1760xflow (yes 85mm pistons!!). I was worried that it would be undrivible but its great and it idles relatively smoothly. If you haven't bought the bcf3 and depending on budget, I would get your pistons pocketed and go for either 234 or a 244, you wont regret it!!

Heres some videos for my 1760xflow with a vulcan stage3 head, 244 cam and twin 45s
