RUSTYPUP Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 Was tugged this morning on the M2 to check if my car was stolen!! Well done Daggle, looks like your boys are now in the know. And they didn't go right over my car like I thought they would. He said that their intelligence was that the stolen cars were going banger racing. Not sure about that. That is the first time I have been stopped for a normal check in an old car since the 90's
over_head_cam Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 Hopefully this IS word getting around I'm sure none of us will mind the odd pull if it means keeping our old motors in OUR garages
mk1super Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 Chances are eventully they will move up the way, only earlier this week i spotted a post from a Fife rs owner saying they tried to have away with his Rs2k. Shock horror in a Big 4x4 of shogun size with a trailer
Rick Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 nobody minds being pulled for all the right reasons about time ppl started to realise the value of our old motors
over_head_cam Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 nobody minds being pulled for all the right reasons about time ppl started to realise the value of our old motors Unfortunately the thieves do
Ade B Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 First time since the 90s?! I've tended to average about one a month for the past ten years
lotusless Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 good to hear this, hope they give the recovery trucks a pull too + do a quick check
bortaf Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 good to hear this, hope they give the recovery trucksa pull too + do a quick check Don't worry, they do I get pulled all the time with some old car on the back, they just want to check the motor on the back is what it says it is on the reg and i have a recipt or V5 for it, the local comunity police even went round to the listed owner of a car i had on the truck (got it the prev night off him) to check it was sposed to be on there I don't moan cos i aint got owt to hide
FredTransit Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Well I agree with the police, if the cars or even the truck/trailer were stopped maybe they wouldn't get away with the thefts (the crims, not the police obviously). Just as long as the police don't use it as an excuse to go through the car with a fine tooth comb and still find nothing.
Mk 1 Mark Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Glad to see the police doing there jobs, and also on a positive note i got a call from the policeman who phoned me to say they he still looking out for my car. And hope that if they see one on a truck they stop it and ask a few question...
