stevepeanut Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 took our lass to J&S motorcycles in Doncaster yesterday to buy her some yamaha clothing for xmas to go with her bike. They got brand new yamaha XJR1300 for £130 a month, 0% finance, for just over 3 years. I've always wanted a brand new bike, and for the first time in my life, I'm very tempted to sign on the dotted line ...........
Admin Vista Posted December 21, 2008 Admin Report Posted December 21, 2008 36 x 130 is only £4680, aren't they about £6500 new? What's the catch? A massive deposit? A huge balloon payment at the end?
stevepeanut Posted December 21, 2008 Author Report Posted December 21, 2008 think its over 3 and half years, so thats 42 months, they are heavily discounted, think it was £5600 new yeah it was £199 deposit, then 42x130 = 5460 + the 199 deposit is 5659 its a hell of a deal
Admin Vista Posted December 21, 2008 Admin Report Posted December 21, 2008 I gave up bikes (reluctantly) about 4/5 years ago when my friend was killed on his but having had all sorts of sports bikes I was about to go in a new direction when he died and I still hanker (secretly) after a V-ROD Got my eye on this one at the moment but it won't come to anything, just wishful thinking. http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/ATD_we ... =821931432
stevepeanut Posted December 21, 2008 Author Report Posted December 21, 2008 I've always had zxrs cbrs gsxrs etc but I was pissed out my brains and broke my elbow playing on one of those aluminium micro scooters that kids have. I cant ride bikes with a sporty riding position now. Got an aprilia 1000 with renthal crosser bars at the moment, but really like the xjr retro style http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Galler ... 20%201.jpg
Trevmk3 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 im currently loving the retro racer style Ducati's that are a couple of years old now
JP. Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Ohh I like bikes Or do I watch to much OCC..................
stevepeanut Posted December 21, 2008 Author Report Posted December 21, 2008 thats very nice Trev, I love italian v twins, so are so good to ride. I mainly want the xjr for a bit touring around, dont fully trust my aprilia, took it to the lakes and it decided not to start in the morning, plus its bloody arse numbing. Jap stuff is 100% reliable and that xjr looks comfy for some big trips
Trevmk3 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 my brother has had a few now his most recent one is this but he cant ride it at the moment as he was pulled out on 2 weeks ago and needs to have a herbert screw in his scaphoid http://www.wheelessonline.com/ortho/her ... aphoid_frx *may not be suitable for the sensitive*
bazbiker Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 I’m into bikes in a big way from, classics to modern, even did a bit of racing a while back Here are some of mine Current one Just sold this one My old Triumph that my sister has just now And one of my BSA's I am restoring I have a few more project bikes too, and I will be doing a trike conversion for my dad on his XJR1300
Admin Vista Posted December 21, 2008 Admin Report Posted December 21, 2008 Ohh I like bikes Or do I watch to much OCC.................. Is that a US spec capri in the background with those big bumpers?
GT_lenny Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 deffo buy a new bike but not an xjr - you'll be so dissapointed they don't just look retro they go,stop and corner retro- if you want to go for a naked/factory streetfighter go speed triple- but then i would say that-

mk1super Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Wheres the fireblades eh? Loving the bikes lads iam very bias though

Trevmk3 Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 my brother had one of the triumph daytona 600's and had nothing but trouble with it, nice bike but the thing was shit problems with the compressor coils or whatever they are, and then the loom decided to cremate itself when he had parked it at work, he part chopped it for a GSXR750
D4N Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 If its a good deal (I know nothing about bikes ) Go for it. You only live once! so live it!
stevepeanut Posted December 22, 2008 Author Report Posted December 22, 2008 always fancied a speed triple, but its gonna be more expensive than the xjr and the way triumph are selling them so fast they arent gonna be offering 0% finance. Saying that my missus will go mad if I buy one, she wants to part ex her fazer for one next year. Been looking at the kwak z1000 too.
stevepeanut Posted December 22, 2008 Author Report Posted December 22, 2008 yeah the speed triple is £8240, add finance to that and its very expensive compared to the £5600 all in for the yammy

Saying that my missus will go mad if I buy one, she wants to part ex her fazer for one next year. Been looking at the kwak z1000 too. Z1000 is a good bike and Kawasaki are offering 0% finance at the moment I personally wouldn’t buy the XJR as my old man had no end of trouble with his rusting to bits after a few months of rolling it out of the showroom and it took Yamaha almost a year to sort it all out. There are so many good deals on new bikes out there at the moment, how about Aprila they are offering 0% and have some nice naked bikes too, or go KTM Duke and be really different
mk1mexico Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I personally love the xjr's something about the multiple blue colour scheme. Never had road bikes but had these two beasts An old Kawasaki KDX200 i had nothing but hassle with and a KTM 300 EXC i replaced it with

Kawa have some good 0% deals on most bikes including the z750 but not the z1000 unfortunately
