Just had my 2 door Mk2 Escort done - had the whole car done apart from the underside. The doors, boot, bonnet and rear cage were also sprayed. Some parts of the car had 2 coats too.

 

Bought 6 litres, and I've got just over 1/2 a litre left.

hope you kept that, you can't beat a drop of the actual paint to touch in the odd scratch or chip.

Like others have said, it depends on the car, what you are spraying on the car, the number of coats it will need because some paints are a lot thinner than others, the finish that you want, the list goes on, as a minimum, i would start with 3ltrs on a base colour and some metallics will eat 5ltrs.
