i used to use tamiya tint spray, around 4 quid, tinted the amber and clear parts and used to give a good look whilst staying 50% legal.

as for any other colour on em.... leave it to the hot hatch children!

i agree with glyn that coloured lights are for chavy tossers... but i have dark tinted lenses on mine, gine through 3 MOTs like it and never had any trouble with the fuzz about it so thats cool... anyway i have a pic for ya!

but i do think it really only suits black capris... or perhaps ones resprayed very dark?

Yeah they are legal as long as the original colour shines through. I had red tintson my Capri and it failed the MOT on 'reverse lights showing through pink' or someting along those lines. Just dont pile it on too thick and make sure you use some good stuff. OMP is really good and the small tin lasts forever! I tinted my Capri, 190e, Cortina and mates W124 Merc and still had some left!

just take out the reversse light bulbs for the mot, dont need em to pass, but if you have em, they must be in correct workin order

Reversing lights are not part of the MoT at all. Doesn't matter if they fitted or not, working or not. So the mot tester was wrong to fail it on them.

I would also say with some of these tinted lights I've seen, As a lorry driver who drives mainly at night, some of them are are so dark you can barely see them until you are almost on top of the vehicle especially if its heavy rain etc. I've no idea whether this is down to painted lenses or what they've done as i never done this. So be careful you dont make them too dark, you might be creating a danger to yourself.

Nice one, post pics! Oh and mask off your reflectors, you don't want to tint them, you can see in my sig the back of my capri with the old tinted lenses and reflectors showin through
