I've just fitted a new starter to my van, and had to take it for a spin as I've not driven it for three weeks. So I do my usual blast down the bypass. On the way back I have to go round the roundabout in the village, and it's small and perfect for getting the back end out. It's quite greasy on there today. So, no cars coming, I blast onto the roundabout and get the back end way out and have a good slide and turn off.

It's only then I notice a police car waiting to pull onto the roundabout! Shit! Shit! Shit! I thought to myself. Only he does the decent thing and turns right and drives off! Lucky escape!

Ive been there a couple of times, not a nice sensation (the cops, not the arse end out -- thats just exhilarating :ykt: )

Im guessing the van has passed the shake-down then?? Perhaps we'll see you at the next Yorkshire meet

lucky there Mike, glad you got away with it. Had my knee down on the bike once, and the police will proper nick you for that. Did it round a bend and a cop car was coming the other way. Nailed it before he could turn around, then hid my bike behind a flower van for a while!

sounds good. if i saw an anglia van i would just think thats a coolest thing i had seen in ages, and if its drifting even better.

i've just taken my capri out in the damp for the 1st time, did a couple of drifts, but i have never done one before on purpose so wasn't very good,

i've got a mk5 fiesta sport as my daily drive and a couple of weeks ago i kept my foot down in 3rd to just under the rev limiter at about 6500rmp, then noticed another car following me close, though shit thats going to be the police, my legs turned to jelly then,

luckily it was my mate in his fiesta sport too, i didn't know he was behind but he saw me boot it and he booted it after me.

yep i was half way round a roundabout once mid sideways, cop car approaches the roundabout from the exit i just went sideways past, pulls me over and told me to put my seatbelt on!

o and also, you know those plastic police, well on my way home once i was mid sideways up a hill, a lone ranger plastic steps into the road with his hand in front of him trying to make me stop.

bearing in mind i already had 3 points on my license still in my probation and i had 5mins ago done a burnout and smoothed off a rear tyre...

basically i kept it planted and he jumped out the way and i carried on my journey home.

you should have just waved at him or put your hand up in a "stop" gesture and nodded your head as if you were greeting him, and carried on your way lol!

I had my excuse of 'The roundabout is a bit greasy and it took me by surprise' at the ready.

Anyway, he couldn't complain about my actions even if he did pull me. I've got the 'Warning: Liable to go sideways at anytime' sticker in the back window.
