John the owner looks after 70 year old Rally Driver, Bob Beans Mk1 Lotus Cortina. I've posted pics on here before. He's just got a new car. John spent countless hours turning it into a replica of the Mk1 Escort Bob used to rally in the 70s. That's not vinyl. It's hand painted! Bob used to rally alongside the likes of Roger Clark and Tony Mason. He's got a scrapbook of pictures which I was looking through showing him with Roger and Tony. This is the original: The Original 'Yumping Bean'. This was Bobs nickname in the 70s and that's when the logo was designed and originally seen on his car. You may have seen it on merchandise sold by The Rallye Sport Escorts website. This is where they stole it from (naughty naughty). Holbay 2 litre which has been dyno'd at 260bhp, with a set of brand new 48s! It was out at the weekend rallying. Pipster007 Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 That reg number reminded me of my Uncles old white MK1 Mex. His was TKX 101M, until it was stolen then smashed into a roundabout at 100mph. It was stolen and used on a bank robbery and wrecked on a police chase many yrs ago
