As far as the other car is concerned do your damndest to make it look like you hadn't actually seen him and were therefore not racing at all ergo he hasn't beaten you.

I can honestly say ive not yet been beaten in the first 200 feet yet.

 

what i do get a lot of though is modern car drivers (especially BMW/Audi drivers) who pull up behind me at the lights and probably think

 

"oh, i dont want to get stuck behind that old thing so il creep into the lane next to him and just carry on, il pull away at a modest speed and il be out the way before he even gets moving"

 

The picture on thier faces is often priceless!!!
