X-pack-Glyn Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Basicly i want to slow one down, i used one as a bait boat for rig placement under trees on the far bank but have been asked politely not to use it on the water again, basicly i loaded the thing with a rig and it took off skimming the surface of the lake, the rig fell off the back and it was doing about 40 mph upwards leaving 2 foot high rooster tails of water behind it sccaring every fish within a 50 ft radius, if i can slow it down im allowed to use it but at the moment theres a few unhappy anglers on the lake complaining about my boat.
stevepeanut Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 must be petrol/nitro if its going at that speed? maybe local model shop could help. or would you be better with a small electric one?
LEONMEX Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 don't know much about them but went down the little model boating lake with my son & all the posh tofts where down there with there sailing boats & big model boats,i really want a speed boat with guns to go down with next weekend. Sorry mate, does it have a servo you can adjust to control the speed?
flyingbanana Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 you can get diff gear ratio gearing for the boats......but they are hard to find esp to fit the correct motor and be strong enough.....i found this out when i built my catamaran boat
X-pack-Glyn Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 Sorry, i should have said, its got twin 3.5 cc thunder tiger nitro engines, i did think about giving it onnly hlaf throttle but it cuts out and runs the engines too lean.
Fiesta Steve Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 I've got this crazy picture in my head now, a few friends of mine race these things so I know exactly what they go like Bait boats usually do 4 mph not 40
Mr Sam Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 LOL!!!! you need a small electric one with speed controller
w p e Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 ask the other anglers to leave when your fishing and useing your boat . or dont push the go button so hard
john_3.0s Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 you wont get a boat like that to run slow enough, your better off with a small electric one - quieter too!
Supercharged Nat Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Sorry, i should have said, its got twin 3.5 cc thunder tiger nitro engines, i did think about giving it onnly hlaf throttle but it cuts out and runs the engines too lean. isnt that a bit unhealthy for the fishies? electric with a speed controller is the way to go for that. (you can go very slow with it) plus how do you drop the rig once your where you want it? do you just tug the line? electric!
