Badgerman85 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 so heres the deal, after over a year of his celica gt4 being away my mate finally rings me up this morning telling me that the cars back, so he demands i bring the mk2 over so we can take a few photos of the 2 cars finally back side by side, but when i turn up what do i find parked on his driveway.....well low and behold he swapped the celica out for a skyline r33 gts25t, and although it may not be my or many of your cuppa teas the car is an absolute menace, boy does it fly! anyway! here are the photos of the 2 puppys parked out front =)
Fiesta Steve Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Escort looks clean Those Skylines are rapid, they are almost as fast as my Mk1 Fiesta
tazrocks88 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 they look proper nice the age of machine vs the age of computer both damn nice choices
Miller Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 The escort looks dwarfed by that skyline. Both nice cars but would definatly rather have the escort
Badgerman85 Posted May 9, 2009 Author Report Posted May 9, 2009 you and me both! give me an old escort anyday =) he's chasing the road to 200 though, so i reckon a liners probably a slightly better choice! altho 0 - 150 in that is absolutely terrifying as it is!!! so nice to finally have the escort dusted off and on the road! BRING ON THE SHOW!!!
Deano1351 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Escort for me, skyline will only get whooped by a gtr anyway
Fiesta Steve Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Escort for me, skyline will only get whooped by a gtr anyway My father inlaw had one exactly the same but tuned, was running 14's at the pod with a best of 13.9 !! So anything with a lively Crossflow will whoop the Skyline
tazrocks88 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 here is a pic of my mates evo which i hope 2 have my escort sitting next 2 at some point funny enuff he has gone from a celica gt4 to this with a gto in the middle
qwerty Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Very nice pair of cars, but definitely the Escort for me!
Mr Sam Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 looks like a space ship next to the mk2 and i know which one id rather have
5hane Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Escort for me, skyline will only get whooped by a gtr anyway i wouldnt be so sure, i would have a GTST anyday over a GTR. GTR's are nice - but the GTST's are 2wd only so lots more fun
mk2estate Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 this is a mate's skyline. it's about 315 bhp & it owes him about 12 grand so far, he wants more power!!! not my cup of tea but it's chuffin' rapid!
Deano1351 Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 12 grand for 315bhp, thats a hell of a lot of money for not much power, especially in skyline terms, these cars only fetch around 3 grand on the bay, dont get me wrong im not a fan of skylines myself but you'v only got to look at what theyre worth, look at this gtr on ebay, 5 grand start bid and it says its got a reliable 430bhp, probably wouldnt take too much to squeeze 5 or 600 bhp out of it either, hmm wonder what a skyline powered cortina would be like haha http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-Skyline-R3 ... 7C294%3A50

5hane Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 hmm wonder what a skyline powered cortina would be like haha RB30 powered cortina, you know you want to ! or if not rb30 (/rb25/rb26) 1JZ/ 2JZ toyota lump

bmxdave Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 I love my S13 but i miss my 100e and Cortina. Id have another if i had the chance. RWD skyline > 4WD skyline. Far more fun. A bit of headwork, injectors, cams and a big turbo and remap and you can see a reliable 600bhp from an RB26, and up to 800 reliable with the right parts on standard internals! Theres even drag cars in Japan making 1200 plus on standard internals. You cant argue with that!
jimbo Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 mines got a fairly lively crossflow That it has When the brakes aren't working against it
Badgerman85 Posted May 11, 2009 Author Report Posted May 11, 2009 haha gotta love my sticky brake pedal =) bloody thing! should all be sorted by tomorrow night!
