johnny_h Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Fukksake, bad news man. It's happening all over tho. I have lost count of the amount of jobs I have applied for recently. I am skilled welder, HGV driver and ex army royal engineer and I can't get a job anywhere. The worst part is applying for all these poxy no brainer jobs and not even getting a "sorry we have filled the vacancy" letter back from them. Pisses me right off. Good luck anyway mate.
bigdaz27 Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 every cloud has a silver lining a mate of mine was made redundant and decided to start his own business as a landscape gardener now he is earning more money and enjoys going to work any way good luck

jimbo Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 ive worked for this firm for 3 years as a mobile caravan repairer, working at holiday parks mainly repanelling the big static holiday homes, absolutely loved it too, best job ive ever had and i was settled there for rest of my working life , im proper gutted. Sorry to hear that Tony. It surprises me that their laying you off. All the caravan clubs and holiday parks are saying business is on the up, cos people are saving cash by not going abroad. Could be you be able to go freelance? If you're working for yourself you could undercut what your company were charging.......
mk1super Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Iam really sorry to hear that Tony, however your a man with alot of skills the capri and bikes are ample proof of that, have you considered going self employed?
Retro-gone. Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 thanks everyone.. theres not enough consistant work in the motorcycle refurb trade, and the caravan repair industry is on his arse at the mo due to the major caravan manufacturers going into liquidation, dunno what im gonna do to be honest, still tryin to get my head round it, im 48 and never spent more than 2 weeks unemployed in all that time, never been redundant either so its a shock to the system.
surfingturnip Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 so sorry to hear that mate. Hope you can find something soon
Dr Feelgood Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 sorry to hear that tony, hope you find something soon good luck and chin up
