on the way down i got overtaken by 3 osfs, and i lost count of cosworths and focus rs's that passed me.

also gutted for the owner of the MK1 escort that burnt out on the motorway

you sound suprised

Lol...

Last year seemed to be the dawn of the plastic - think they came out the woodwork with the weather...

I still had a good day thou...

I mean WTF....some people do have funny ideas on what CLASSIC means, there was more plastic than anything else!

Was a bit miffed to see brand new focus st's and outher new plastic junk in with the classic stuff. Defeats the object of a " classic ford " show .

Two good things came out of it:

1) The plastic crap got decimated by the OSF tin apart from one 4WD MK4 Escort which decimated all.

2) Some of our more illustrious YB Turbo powered OSF brethren actually were nearly as fast or faster than the built for drag racing Pro-Street cars.

did have a little word with a marshall as there where 3 c***s spinning about near the dodgems in an escort cossie & 2 s1 erra cossies of which if i had a brick it would of got put through there windows. But i had the last laugh both the s1 erras broke there diffs on the line & the escort cossie ran a very impressive 17 second quarter  to much plastic for me,but still a very very very good weekend :beer::ykt:

Baz105e was pleased when we told him his 1660 rat Anglia ran 0.2 second quarter time faster than the Mondeo ST24!

there where some really nice motors best show of the year so far for me but i do think its going to end up like ford fair which would be a disaster

Posted

Half the show stands were plastic with some seriously bad barry horrors  ...but the bysellcortina, oldskoolford really stood out with quality old motors...well done everyone

Didnt really take any notice of the stands/traders selling for the new car types but did do well on 2 pairs of new mk1 escort mexico front wings , one pair steel, one pair fiberglass needles to say my wallet is now a bit lighter :D There were some top quality cars there though and all credit to there owners, had a great day.... :D

Well for me it was the best show of the year, even with the modern bit all over the place, but we definitly had the best stand! So i think a BIG thanks to Darren and whoever else was involved in setting it up. :ykt:

As for the car on fire on the M1, if it was the one on the way home, it wasnt a classic, it was a Crysler 300c but there was a red mk1 escy broken down just behind it.

Sorry to everyone that met at the Ace cafe this morning, i was running about 15 mins late and missed everyone.

Was that that 90's Mustang that did impressive burnouts but was carrying so much lard it could barely haul itself up the 1/4 mile faster than a 1L Fiesta despite having an engine 4 times the size?

I watched that and had a quiet chuckle to myself. Bet the ST24 owner was gutted.
