Was offered the bodyshop couple of weeks ago,but the work just isnt out there in the area, trade getting worse day by day- the banks coming in anyways,people just havent got the money,thinking about coming a sex machine for the 60+ might be a market

you might laugh but the sex industry is the oldest in the world and if you cater for some strange tastes there bussiness to be had from people that are usually quite well off

Know what you mean about bodyshops being quite ,were just not seeing the earning jobs .

All of our work is tidy up this and fit a new wing to that ,no real profit work . Talked to another panelbeater today and he reckons its a dying trade even though people still have accidents ,they just dont fix the cars if they still drive

Gutted for you mate. Have you applied for your redundancy yet? Get yourself signed on straight away and see if you can get a slice of any assets they have left, you certainly deserve it after 12 years.

If you are PAYE there's a government scheme to claim all your holiday pay and redundency...as said previously 12 years gives a good benifit. Ask your boss or the liquidators/adminstrator...its your legal entitlement.

That's mad. Up here in poverty stricken East Yorkshire, they're booking 7-10 days ahead for the mechanical side and 3 weeks ahead for bodyshops. That's pretty much every garage in the county. There's loads of garages advertising for mechanics/panelbeaters. Maybe it's because we're poor here so tend to fix em rather than just get another.

maybe its because up here the salet content in the air is 25% higher than down south? our cars rust quicker!
