deltamal Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Have a talk to Specialest vehicles, my 530D, fast good build quality, loads of room, and 40 mpg plus on the motorway! they will source any vehicle spec you want, must say though, the look of the chrysler is a bit good! shame about the mpg......
capriaddict Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Oooo just a thought here vista how about a Mk2 escort van instead, plenty of room in the back for a child seat and associated baggage when transporting the little one around. Plus its not going to depreciate in value like a modern car

zetecmk2 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 we've had a few in at work, i don't think the body is good build quality! press the d pillar with your finger....gently.....boing!!! really no strength! and the factory sealer is shyte!!! the last one was on the 2 poster for a month while the weels were being re-furbed, and we found loads of faults from the factory!! look at the way the bonnet lines up with the wings......it doesn't!!! etc etc all the running gear is merc though
BIGKEV Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Sorry - I think its Horrid from what people have been saying you would be watsing your money buying this Heap.
Admin Vista Posted June 10, 2009 Author Admin Report Posted June 10, 2009 It's looking like most people think that Kev. Having just had to spend quite a bit to get the wifes daily repaired, we're probably going to abandon the whole plan and stick with hers for the moment. I may just sell my Z4 and reinstate the RS as the daily drive (as it was in 2006 / 7) I always worry about walking away from it when it's parked though.
BIGKEV Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 My philosophy is buy a £300 car and if it breaks buy another - from what you are saying you may be able to buy a few £300 cars and keep them as spares for the cost of that Yank Tank Simples
Admin Vista Posted June 10, 2009 Author Admin Report Posted June 10, 2009 It's a good philosophy . Unfortunately image can be very important in my line of work and turning up in a banger would be something of a faux pas. There's probably a good compromise to be had somewhere though.
BIGKEV Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Mitsi Galant Estate - now that has character and reliable too
SmokeEm Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Don't be totally put off Scott - if i could have afforded the fuel for mine i'd have another in a heartbeat!
Admin Vista Posted June 10, 2009 Author Admin Report Posted June 10, 2009 The fuel economy and visibility are the main things that are putting me (us) off. We'll go and have a look at it and see what we think for future reference.
Admin Vista Posted June 17, 2009 Author Admin Report Posted June 17, 2009 Ok we finally we got around to going to look at it today and yes it is a little plastic inside but nothing like as bad as I was expecting after the comments on here. On the whole I really liked it and the seat position is highly adjustable so it doesn't look like visbility will be much of an issue for my wife (who was also quite impressed with it) Didn't go for a test drive today as it was pissing down but maybe on a drier day..............................
SmokeEm Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 As i said mate, i'd have another in a heartbeat if i didn't do so many miles every year
