FredTransit Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nott ... 129826.stm WTF?? Dog handlers should know better! And I can't believe they are not even going to be suspended.
Mr Sam Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 yet again the law gets away with killing some honest good working citizens it was the Notts police force was it not? who are allready in the shit over tazering a guy more than 5 times!!!!
FredTransit Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 Yes it was Notts, and had this been a member of the public I am sure the RSCA would prosecute. BTW this is not a Police bashing thread. It's a fukwit bashing thread. Dogs die in hot cars fact. You leave two big dogs in a car on the hottest day of the year, you are resposible for your actions, regardless of who you work for.
Fishtailparka Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 I expect the people in question a pretty distressed about it. Seems a dumbass thing for professional dog handlers to do.
SAMMYBOY Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 We let a friend of my dads watch our German shepherd years ago, when we were on holiday..Guy did the same thing, left poor Shane out in his garden, water bowl dried up, and Shane croaked it........ Not a nice way to go......But im sure the coppers will still get a bollockin, especially from the animal rights peeps.........
Jiffer Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 thats just wrong. i've been on the wrong end of a police dog (my fault) but would never want to see any harm come to them. a police dog never gave me a ticket for drivin an OSF head bowed for the fallen
Daggle Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 I can't believe this , WTF is going on? All the dog handlers I have met would lay down their lives for their dogs? What sort of twat leaves a dog in a car on days like its been this week All our dog vans are fully air conditioned and when they are left in the van, the rear doors are left open and water is in the cages Crazy!
Retro-gone. Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 thats whats so hard to grasp, my best and life long friend is a seargent in Brid force and he said exactly the same thing, all the local rozzer dog handlers are proper pissed off at this.
YOUNGY Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 they should know better, they should make an example of them
Yeomans22 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 when im out in my car and it this hot i have the window down and i haven't got fur. (that much anyway lol) its now going to cost thousands of pound to train up 2 more dogs.
Smudger105e Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I have thought about this, and it is unacceptable for any animal to perish in this way. But Suppose the dogs were left in the car with the engine running and air conditioning on, and the engine stopped for some reason? Possible reason that the copper has not been suspended? And as for the Notts coppers who tazered the guy five times, good job, he deserved most of it. I have been on the piss in Notts a few times, and the Police have never had to tazer me!
FredTransit Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 I can't believe this , WTF is going on? All the dog handlers I have met would lay down their lives for their dogs? What sort of twat leaves a dog in a car on days like its been this week All our dog vans are fully air conditioned and when they are left in the van, the rear doors are left open and water is in the cages Crazy! I get the impression they were left in the handler's civilian car. Still no news as to what will happen to the handler. I say sack him. The RSPCA said it takes up to 30 mins to get to the stage a dog will die. Coincidentally there was a programme on yesterday, about the RSPCA patrolling a country show looking for dogs left in cars. They broke into a BMW in the car park too late, to find a dog dead. The owner got read his rights on his return. So what's happening to the handler? Tough if he gets prosecuted and looses his job.
sambo Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I cant believe how PC and hypocritical some people are. the dogs dying. Yes very sad, i love animals and the thought of that sucks but in this big old world shit happens, they didnt do it deliberatley, they probably loived those dogs and are much more cut up than any of us about it. But blame culture means that they must pay to satisfy us. Mistakes happen. As for the tazering, this guy probably spat, kicked or shouted abuse at them. If some drunk twat was giving me shit while i was working and i had a tazer to hand, i'd do the same thing and enjoy it. We dont know the full stories do we. People are such busy bodies, but complain when others do the same thing.
FredTransit Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 I am not saying they did it deliberately, but if a police driver mowed down a bus que do you think he would be driving the next day? It's his job, and he really really would have known better. If a police driver accidentally left his keys in his patrol car and it was nicked and used to kill somebody, do you think his superiors would say 'oh never mind, we know you didn't mean to do it'? No, they would discipline him. Emotions aside, this handler has been key in the destruction of valuable police 'equipment'.
GJUK Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 fookin discusting Has anyone considered that it could be a mechanical issue, some of these vans have A/C which you can leave on when the car's 'off'. Maybe it broke? Shame to read this all the same. Very painful way to die
FredTransit Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 From the BBC link I posted The animals were found dead in the private vehicle outside the force's headquarters in Nottingham on Tuesday. So not an official police dog van.
sambo Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 But people make mistakes, and its only cos of the media that brings it to our attention and all of a sudden people want their heads on a stick. Things like this happen every day. Like Taz said on the MJ thread, his mates dad died and none of his mates gave a fook and were more concerned about MJ's death. That is very sad indeed. Do people who care so much about this and want these guys punished campaign for aminal rights actively? No, i doubt it. There is a lot more sick things going on to animals that are intentional but people dont really give a stuff.
FredTransit Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 I really seriously hope that police dogs don't die like that every day. That's the whole point of this. This dog handler is/was a PROFESSIONAL dog handler, and should have know better. Yes people make mistakes, but that, in this case is not an excuse. Even other handlers mentioned in this thread can't believe it's happened.
caprinerd Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 wife has read apiece out to me that the officer is being/been suspended for a police enquiry
FredTransit Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 Well good. No more than the force should have done.
