It's believed that in the early days of Mini production, BL lost money on every one they sold. But I for one am glad they persevered as the Mini has become an icon of British motoring, much like Concorde became a symbol of British engineering ingenuity (oh and we stuffed the yanks on that one )

And that was £1 per car I wasn't slating it m8, jus my opinion.
