well, having wanted one for a while i got myself an old bmw E30 316, and its a minter! its the 1.8 carb, 2 door, totally original, 2 owners from new (father and son), 66,000 miles, have all MOT's to prove it too, every bit of history is wth the car, including the bill of sale for £11,500!! it came with 12 months test and 12 months tax (which is £190) i still have the mk2 escort tho, could never give that up, so, what do u lads think? oh yeah, it only cost £575!!

stunner mate i love these cars and had a few from 318's to 325s coupes, saloons and tourings. nearly bought another last week but got a 4 door escort instead... to be honest i know which would have given me more car for the money

Nope - later 316's were 1.8's

 

Also, 525's were actually 2.7's

i got confused by the badge too, but bmw is still doing it now, the newish 316ti'3 are actually 1.8's, lol, bloody germans, hahaha. i was gonna lower it and do a few little bits but i've been told im gettin the escort back out of the bodyshop around xmas so im not spending anything on the bmw, but im still well chuffed with it, lovely.

nothing wrong with BMs! My dad nearly bought a M3 e30 last year. he wishs he did now could off mad a couple grand on it all ready. They going up in value very quick!

 

My dads mate got 3 m3s and one is an x bastos m3 race car!

on my drive atm ... e30 316 tourer , e30 318 tourer having an engine swap to become a 318IS tourer , 320 with 325 lump and a 320i rolling shell with full leather lsd 15" bbs etc etc

i had a 325i sport e30 with the black leather wish i still had it now

i also had one exackly the same as that one with the 1800 carb

if i remember you can stick a ford carb on it aswell direct fit to the manifold then they go well think i put a 3 litre capri carb on mine

I was after a 318is/325i, but you can't see to get one for decent money anymore. Or if they are, they've done stupid milleges.

, my clutch slave cylinder went 3 days after getting it, it took the escort 3 years to snap its cable! lol, but the new part only cost £9.99 off ebay, , i was having a play in it last night on a round about, and i defo need a quicker rack on it, my arms were killing!! i wonder if i can graft a mk2 escort quick rack onto it??? hhhmmmmm??
