a little while ago, some idiot on a bicycle rode into the side of our lasses car. He took full responsibility, he wasnt hurt and they was very light damage to the car, which never got fixed. The insurance company were not interested in recording it, and our lass told the police to be on the safe side just incase he turned round and said he was hurt later on.

Just phoned up to sort my pickup insurance, last year it was £230 fully comp, they put it up to £280 this year. They ran through my details, to check everything, and in the accidents/claims section I mentioned what happend to my lass cos shes on my pickup policy.

the girl on the phone then says, "we cant offer you the £280 price anymore, next best is £370!!!" I said, there was no claim etc, it wasnt recorded on insurance.

Spent most of tonight on price comparison sites, and cant beat the price. Wish our lass had flattened the idiot on the bicycle :x

Gutted now, my insurance has gone up nearly £100

Well things worked out ok, in the end I managed to get the truck fully comp for £330, which is only £30 more than the first price.

The moral of the story, is tell the rip off insurers as little as possible, especially if it wasnt reported to insurers or police

Why get his car repaired at all if he drove into you, if its his fault let it go through his insurance.

A friend of mine had an accident a couple of years ago, admitted it was his fault (fiddling with the radio when the car in front stopped and he didnt) and all was well until he got the other drivers statement through from his insurers, he claimed both he and his girlfriend got whiplash, only thing was there was only him in the car, mate told his insurers and they wouldnt fight it, easier to give a payout on someone who wasnt there than say they werent, then they bump peoples premiums up

Someone I know ;) bumped the back of a car in the warm up lane at the 'Pod, small dint in rear panel of the car, driver reckoned £150 repair.

Got a letter this week saying that the claim was now £750, new rear panel, bumper, bumper brackets, exhaust section, boot floor!

The naughty boy had reported that the accident happened in a 'queue of traffic'. They were advised that the queue was on a raceway, and it is probbaly a fraudulent claim.

Wonder how it will pan out?...
