MrsSmokeEm Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 This is the only time you will find me and SmokeEm in a tent, so it has to be a 2 day event
baz105e Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 ive been to classic ford for the last couple of years and at the end of the sunday im always left thinking "do i have to go home"
over_head_cam Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 I think as far as OldSkoolFord is concerned, the ayes have it

X-pack-Glyn Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Makes no difference to me... but if the plastic is bad like it was this year il be staying at home.
caprinerd Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Makes no difference to me... but if the plastic is bad like it was this year il be staying at home. good call Glyn , didnt think of that,
nellyracer22 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Classic ford weekender? hell yes! me an my mate leeroy might turn up with a ford this year....
rallyesport04 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 2 days cos its either look at the stunning cars an miss the track action or watch the strip an miss seeing some of the most jaw dropping cars out there plus sat/sat night
Contract Man Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 2 days deffo ( 1 day for the show - 1 day to get out) No plastic either day
4parajon Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Defo needs to be 2 days this, there's just not enough time to have a butchers at everything. Might also alleviate some of the queing up for the strip as that was horrendous last year simply because it was so popular.
tom9876 Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 this year was the first time i went and thought it was one of the best shows that i went to this year 2 days would make this show even better
Dalek Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 I asked this way back in June http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... highlight= My post I think the show has now tipped the scales... It's a victim of it's own sucess, i think it should now be a 2 day event. Its too big to see it all in one day now. Also would like to see the show back on the grass, imo it is horrible on the tarmac. It's too hot, less relaxed and feels like a traffic jam in tescos car park. When it's on grass it just feels like a better show. Is there anything that can be done to address these points Simon ? Don't get me wrong it is THE show of the year ( i did a round trip of 1000 miles to get to it again in a relaltivly standard anglia) I will be there again next year, i would just like to see it back even better ! Oh and i have no objections to all the modern cars at all, but how about this for a suggestion. Give them there own little area. ALL the modern stuff together don't care if its at the start, middle or end area of the layout but it would be nice to have them contained and not splashed about amongst the classic fords. Cheers Craig Simons reply Hello Craig, Cheers for the comments. Here goes! The show is almost a two-dayer already, as you can turn up from lunchtime on Saturday. This year the Saturday RWYB was classic Ford-only from 5-8 pm, but we have discussed making Saturday a Ford-only RWYB for the whole day. I think this would be a good idea, but I'm not in favour of making the whole show a two-dayer - it would make the Sunday feel less special and water down the special attractions like The Great Unveiling. Having said that, it hasn't been ruled out and the decision is not solely down to me! The days of the show being exclusively on grass are now over. There are a number of reasons why, but the two main ones are the show is now too big, and the other is that Santa Pod won't allow it - there are two much bigger events that take place not long after CFS (and which utilise both the hard-standing and all of the grassed areas), and the risk of churning up the land prior to these events is too great. As for the moderns, it works better if they are mixed in with the rest of the clubs, and as has already been discussed at length elsewhere on here, it's almost impossible to decide what is a classic Ford or not. Despite the comments, there were actually fewer 'modern' classic Ford clubs in attendance than last year! Cheers! Simon My biggest bugbear is that the show is on tarmac now and from Simons reply doesn't look like it will ever be back on the grass which is shame, so much so that i think i am going to give it a miss if it's on tar, 2 days or not ! Craig

Craig Agreed (except the bit about missing it) somehow wandering around on tarmac instead of grass takes something out of it for me too.
KJ 1320 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Having it on grass is fine if you don't intend taking your car up the strip, because of the possibility of taking mud onto the strip
emu Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 I dont really see why it matters if its on tarmac or grass I can look at loads of grass (or tarmac) anywhere Im not sure whether the show should be over two days or not really. I spent all of last years show stood inthe queue for the strip, so if it had been a two day show then I could have seen the displays on the other day. Similarly, this year I didnt run up the strip because I didnt want a repeat of last years experience. I do feel a bit like I was missing out on the full 'experience' both years though. I know the show is succesful but wonder though whether it is big enough to fill 2 days if you dont want to run up the strip one day?? As has been said before, its almost a two dayer already with the RWYB on the saturday and the saturday night piss ups.
SebringRS Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Im up for a 2day deffo Now i can try and persuade my dad to take me and we can stay over in the Motorhome

But we dont want it to become a ford fair ! i think the above is simple.....if its got plastic bumpers its not a classic anything, but it is the mags show & not an OSF show
Mrs O/H/C Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Deffo has to be a 2 day event..we come up from Cornwall so it makes sense to be up there for the whole weekend. in my opinion...its the best show of the year ( " security " )
