Hi

Does anyone know a company that sells car door security locks. I am looking to make my sons Anglia a little more secure. A few years ago a company called Hykee used to sell a high security barrel that would replace the barrel in a standard mk 1 cortina (and other old ford) door and boot locks. Unfortunately they now only seem to do stuff for modern vans.

Many thanks for any advice

Regards

i'd be very interested too if anyone finds anything out

i was contemplating those small deadlock things like commercial vans seem to have but don't much fancy chopping intothe doors and it wouldn't look too good neither

Savvi Ive an early escort you know door lock in handle,i dont really wanna start driling holes in my doors wondered if i had any other options lock wise or would i be better of fitting later escort doors an then chucking in newer/solex locks??

I used to have some yale type locks in a Mk1 Escort.

They fitted half way down the door rather than being a replacement of the original lock. A plunger went through into the cars rear 1/4.

Wouldn't mind a couple of sets if they're still available

You could fit remote deadlocks, no keys as it's done via a alarm or remote locking kit.

This is what i fitted to Prison vehicles last year, the bolt shoots out into the door or pillar.

Are those kits expensive savvi?

Most people will probably think so :?

Your looking at £135 for the lock (2 doors) plus you will need a remote kit to operate it ................. approx another £70 ish that's just the cost of parts no fitting ?

Slam locks are are approx £100

Those trade prices to me and exclude post

i'm sure the older lock type will work out cheaper.
