steve dray Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Ran beautifully at the pod on saturday, ran a PB with no gas, then first run on sunday, up in to third and then a missfire, coasted back to the pits, open the bonnet oil everywhere! No 4 piston broke I think Will try and get the head off this week to have a closer look

steve dray Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Posted October 21, 2009 Got the head off tonight, no 4 piston has melted and caused damage to the bore, head is ok (phew!!). Luckily I have two spare blocks, so just need to get a new piston, get the block bored and rebuild it over the winter. I think it may have suffered from fuel starvation, as the fuel level in the tank is low so the pump which supplies the nitrous system may have been starved, but gonna check the fuel jet also for that cylinder just in case. Thats racin for ya!!
