Ste-V Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Why what is the difference? Is it worth investing in? Steve.
Badgerman85 Posted November 12, 2009 Author Report Posted November 12, 2009 Why what is the difference? Is it worth investing in? Steve. they got rid of alot of the useless the round ones nobody needs, it runs a hell of alot faster due to this as theres alot less stuff running in the background, the new task bar is pretty cool too, that and the fact its so easy to install and setup, in my opinion it runs as quick as XP does if not a little bit quicker!
EscortHeadCase Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=104069&start=0 To sum it all up. Xp is a Mk1 Escort Rs2000 that is now running with a YB and t5 in it. Vista is the M5/6 Escort Rs2000 and W7 is an Escort Cossie.

Ste-V Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 I used to like XP more than Vista, much simpler Will look into 7...
Admin Vista Posted November 13, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 13, 2009 Dumb question time: To Install 7 does it wipe your drive so you have to reinstall everything?
Burns Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Dumb question time: To Install 7 does it wipe your drive so you have to reinstall everything? if you upgrade from vista i believe it is just an upgrade (keeps your stuff) but if it's from xp then it's gonna be a fresh install (lose your stuff). ps. i'd recomment a fresh install but it's up to you
Admin Vista Posted November 13, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 13, 2009 It's from Vista but the machine is only 3 / 4 months old so it's not yet too bogged down. TBH I don't really have any problems with Vista as I don't know enough about PC's to see the difference.
Badgerman85 Posted November 13, 2009 Author Report Posted November 13, 2009 you can upgrade from windows 2000, XP and vista according to the upgrade documentation, not that i believe what microsoft have to say. Either way you're better off doing a totally fresh install as if you upgrade there will still be some remnants of vista sitting around to cause trouble!
over_head_cam Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 I've had a quick go on 7 and I quite like it. But until I get a new machine it xp all the way for me

Nicks53 Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 This is a great new system, been using it since the test versions were released and I'm happy to say it's been no problem, even on a 4 year old laptop.
