Retro-gone. Posted November 25, 2009 Author Report Posted November 25, 2009 sorry but im still not grasping it, is the arcade vereion ok for her to just play games on or not? why does it need a memory? i thought you just bunged a cassette thing in with the game on it? The arcade version would be fine for playing games on The larger the memory, the more saved games/stored music you can have. Hope that makes it a bit clearer thanks mate
Arrie Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 getting mine a pamper day. And i don't mean nappies! With her out of the way i can get in the garage and do some work.

GJUK Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 I've just asked mine and shes said "King squirrel. You, wrapped up under the christmas tree". Worried about the logistics involved. I will not be doing this.
stuartp Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 stuart all she wants to do is play games, she doesnt go online at all, never uses the pc, she loves her games consoles.. so will the arcade one be ok for her? she wont need a hard drive just to play games will she? arcade one will be ok but a bit limited - she'll be able to play games though If you can stretch to it i would definitely suggest getting the middle 'premium' one with the hard drive (the 'elite' is overkill i'd say) and connect it up to your broadband. if she does want to download demos, game add ons and the simpler/ cheaper xbox live games (or rent films, music etc etc) you'll need a hard drive. There's a whole load of good stuff you'd miss out on if you can't save it on the machine. If she's not interested in playing or interacting with other people then don't bother with the xbox live gold membership (which is about £35 a year) as you can do pretty much everything without the account.
2litreScapri Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 I don't strictly have a g/f at the mo, but my best mate is female, & everybody says we're like a married couple, so sod it! Xmas pressie for her will be Michael McIntyre dvd, definitely! Hoping she gets me something good!
