Does this make any sense?

Got my new 13x7 revolites today from midland wheels today. I took them to the tyre fitters and asked them to fit 205/60/13`s on two of them and 185/60/13`s on the other two. They then said it would be a pain to fit the 205`s cos the wheel was quite wide. I thought the 205`s were about the right width for the 7j`s.

205's should be ok on 7's mate its what i used to fit. sounds like they didnt want to do it. at the end of the day its what you want. remember the customers always right.

Try another tyre fitter as said 205's are spot on for 7's

175s stretch over 7 inch wheels, 205s are no problem

Being an ex tyre fitter id say its the 185s that will be more of a pain, 205 is the right size for a 7 inch

still on the bright side you now know they are total twats and to go elsewhere

i have a mk2 with std arches and have always used 7s with 185s, ive never had problems fitting them or any problems when on the car

as i thought then, 205/60/13`s are ok to fit on 13x7`s. Gonna pay `em a little visit tomorrow to see wot the f**k the`re on about. Cheers for the advice everyone.

TBH can't believe you're going back.....what they have done is give themselves a "getout clause" for when they muller your rims..."well we told you they weren't right for those tyres".......leave well alone and find fitters that know what they are doing

Aparently according to my resident tyre expert (!) 205s will go on a 7J rim no problem, 185s would be pushing it, they are too skinny...

My local tyre place had no problem fitting 165's to 7" rims but struggled fitting 185's to 8"s but did it eventually,with no damage,although they wouldn't tell me how.

I had 185 60 13 fitted on my 7 1/2j with a bead blaster.
