I know someone who moved from Carlisle to Chester, went into a bakers and asked for a sausage roll. They offered him a sausage roll (he wanted a roll with a sausage in it, a sausage cob in these parts). He said 2no, one of those" (pointing at the rolls) with a sausage in it. They said "oh, you want a batch?" He said "no, I only want one"

I grew up in south shields and washington, both just outside newcastle for those who dont know the area, so I am northern.

I wind up the mrs, and say that now I live with her in Leeds, that I live in the midlands!

my mate is a stand up comic in newcastle he says

leeds is 90 miles down from newcastle, space is 60 miles up from newcastle, so space is more northern than leeds!
