stevepeanut Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 my head is proper screwed up, sold my mazda pickup (to the liberal democrats !) So got about £1000 to spend on a 4x4 still cant decide between something small like a little suzuki vitara, or wether to get something big like a discovery
Mr Sam Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 defender FTW if your looking at vitars also consider the toyota Rav 4
BIGKEV Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Vitara - all the way - cheap and cheerful and this one is my Wifes uncle ( he's a nutter) and he rolled it a few weeks ago on the ice. Spot the damge - hardly any, I have told him that the Exo cage is to protect the car from him!! oil filled the bores and locked the lump up so took sparkplugs out and wanged it over - hey presto - up and running again.
ray1609 Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Vitara!!!!! the other halfs family have loads!!! and so does she!!! never had a problem
stevepeanut Posted January 15, 2010 Author Report Posted January 15, 2010 you sold the pick up? yeah was only getting used 1 or 2 times a month, fancy a 4x4 so time to sell. The liberal democrats councillor from folkstone came all the way up from kent to mine in leeds and drove it back. Its going to be used to carry signs that they put up for the coming general election
FredTransit Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Do they know it's gonna be famous?
caprinerd Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 if you go vitara go for the jap build one their the ones that have a smaller battery parts are cheaper as they differ from the spanish ones, and if you get the chance of an auto get it they are like gold dust to find and fetch good money as the off roaders love them, so if you do get the chance to get one get it
Durham Fiesta Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 probabaly best to steer clear or shogun / pajero's , they are well kitted out but i've had bad experiences with a couple
antz Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 vitara all the way as Kev said! After market parts are cheap, they are good in standard trim and with some meaty tyres on they are bloody brilliant. Plus you dont have to pay the scene tax that comes with owning a land rover, and in my experiences a standard land rover would be shat upon greatly by a vitara But then I just dont see the appeal in land rovers. very over rated in my opinion.
stevepeanut Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 still looking at lots of vitaras but I dont like the 5 doors or soft tops. So looking for a 3 door hard top
