I'm sure that they have to charge the lower of the 2 prices advertised, I remember working in supermarkets and that's why they make so much of a fuss when you're pricing things up on the shelves; they really made a point of whinging about it.

I think thats company policy rather than the law :thumbsup:

B&Q thats says it all a few weeks ago went in got what i wanted and this non speaking englanda type puts me through the self pay bit , well to cut a long story short i had stuff that was get 5 for the price of 4 ..........it actually cost me 30 quid more thanks to her assistance......Memo re B&Q never again.. :x:?

I work in an appliance shop and we are always having wrongly priced stuff coming to the tills as all of our prices are handwritten using an unclear, dog eared price list. If the item is only marked a few pound cheaper than it should be I let it go through, but I can't let big differences go though. That's just because i'm very nice.

Another thing people get wrong is if they buy something incorrectly they expect a refund or exchange. This is also down to shop to do as a good will gesture to accept them back and not law. For example buying brake pads when you needed to get brake discs. There is no law to state that this should be accepted back for refund or exhange, but most places will just to show good customer service.
