i havant read every thread but i totally agree with wat every one has sed. ther are some low lifes trying to get rich quick unfortuanatly they pic our cars to doit. but the onli thing all we can all do is try to prevent it happening we will never be able to stop it. just like burglary, knife crime, rape, etc. it will never stop because ther are jus tomany scummers out ther an always will be.some of the thefts are jus punk kids out for a joy ride cos theve seen an old car an no its easy to steel bastards stil i no. an worst case is tht ther chop shoppers.

countless times ive walked around the auto jumble an ford fair or were ever an can see loads of r.s turbo an c.o.s.s.i.e bits an sum osf stuff an cant halp think bet half that stuff is off a hot stripped car. its a bitch but it happens. so i sugest every one gets hot on secruity. locks imobilasers alarms cameras trackers u name it. even taking ur rotor arm out could save you car jus do wat u can people.

LETS FIGHT THESE SCUMBAGS :thumbsup::ykt:

perhaps with them going to liverpool docs theres perhaps a big demand over sea,s somewere,

if i were a crook i wouldnt dare try selling the parts on ebay or even in this country as its a small world and its amazing who knows who so someone would know somewere down the line who,s parts/car they were , these cars/parts that are been nicked must be going to quite a safe place where noone will either know where they come from or is like you say a dodgy character who dont give a sh*t ,

saying that tho straight away off top of my head ive got 3 mates massively into osf and dont come on here so they wouldnt know if they were buyin stolen goods or not , so im saying if ive got 3 you guys must know a few people also that wouldnt know what they were buying

when my escort is parked in my treble locked workshop its parked with the coil lead removed, the steering on full lock with a crook lock on,and the keys taken home with me , we,ve just gotta do as much a poss to avoid them been nicked :?

its bloody horrible to think that even this forum is a tool to help shit heads like them do this to innocent earners like us lot

one side, it helps create a community feel to owning an OSF, helps beginners like me understand the mechanics and allows many people to grab real bargains now and again.

Other hand, its like walking into a supermarket for thieves.

Probably the only cure is to be sure that you use your head and obtain the correct security devices needed to stop these fookers.

I've heard of people just lifting cars up using hi-ab trucks in the past ... they will try anything for a quick buck ... inhumane!

Got my Tracker and put my CCTV up yesterday lol - records to a hard drive 24/7 and with good quality, being where I am I have to be careful. gonna shit myself when I go on holiday. if we had the money it would be securely stored when not abusing it. buy a tracker - they make all the difference.

The ONLY ways you can stop / slow them down is :

Chain them to the ground. Through both axel's imo. rear axel takes under 10 min to take off, xmembers a bit more involving..

IMHO its the only thing that will stop them, becasuse ignition bits removed, imobalisers, dead locks etc etc, will not stop them dragging / hiabing cars away.

Obviously, CCTV and trackers are good at finding out who nicked them. But i wouldnt let anyone know that you have one..

Personnally, my ECU will be removed (so theres no way, at all it will EVER start, could leave the key in it rolf) and it will be chained to the ground.

Not now that they're going to come armed with chain cutters and a flat bed

now ive not got the best of hearing, but i think most of us would be able to hear a paddy saw in the middle of the night?

(pritty much anyone who aint deaf would hear one at early hours of the morning!!)

And what are you going to do if you do hear them? Go out there and get your head kicked in??

Chances are they aren't alone mate

Call 999?

i would presume theres much more chance of the police responding if the crimes happening at that time, and you could also get photos from a bedroom window ? and good descriptions of vehicles / people

or just get your rambo on :ykt:

Hate hearing about these. You work hard for your money and after paying bills what you have left goes to your pride and jo, whereas some scum whose never worked a day in their life just come along and nicj it. To make things worse, if you go out and hit them YOU get arrested

I'd do everything that has been suggested I.E Chain the car down, remove ecu, tracker etc.
