The only place I haven't had to wear uniform was at university and to be honest, I wish there had been because students dress like queers.

i dont think it matters what you wear really....i didnt wear school uniform for last few years of school...left with 12 gcses and a gnvq and that was the worst school in the borough...Addington High anyone who knows it will know what i mean

If you wanna learn and put in the effort you'll suceed end of!

and all this bullying crap now winds me up...on my first day of secondary school my dad told me go find the "hardest" boy in school and go lump him..so i did..one fight later 1hr detention and i didnt get any shit ever and no one ever said anything to me even tho i was in all the "Nerd" Classes

Ok, heres what i gota say.... (and i know this is gona open a whole new can o worms, but we still live in a world of free speech....JUST)

Personally i dont give a flying fook about uniform....

But what i do object too is my kids coming home saying they have learned some aurdu (or however the fook you spell it) Today.... and learned all about mohamed..

Now what use is that to my children?

Schools teaching religious tolerance perhaps?

To be honest though, what good is any religious education to a child aside from a philosophy / set of morals?

Heres my ten pence worth

As ive worked with teen agers for a few years and one things clear structure is whats missing and this is given by discipline. Apart from the 3 R's schools need to teach structure and an easy way is uniform this breeds responsibuility which in society these days we need more off. It dosnt matter what paper you read as long as we all start looking out of our own little bubbles and realise the state of this country.

Five pence change please

dont try and insult me behind your key board. what you wrote i read else ware if you got a problem with my opinion well sort it of computers face to face fook all this key board the round ones and no i dont read the sun or the star

you probley read the sport. end off

Who's the keyboard warrior and who's insulting who here Wayne? You came out with a strongly worded and ill informed opinion and suggested I was a muppet for thinking otherwise, that I couldn't form my own opinion and that I was just quoting what I'd read from others.

I replied pointing out politely stating good reasons that are based on factual evidence coupled to my own experiences (in two different schools with and without uniform) why you were talking out your arse. Not my problem if you don't like it.

my old school uniform was great - grey trousers, white shirt and a red tie. whether you bought the best armari stuff or the standard school shop stuff, everyone looked the same. Bullying exists in every school in some form or another, why open the scope even more with shit like rich vs poor, townies vs emos etc etc etc??

wearing a school uniform isnt much differnce than wearing a works uniform - who goes to work in a suit and changes when they get home? how many mechanics wear the same overalls whilst watching tv in the evening? first thing i do when i get home is take off the hi-vis clothing and steelies, its really no hardship. also means i dont wreak my own stuff whilst at work too, same applies at school... id rather put a hole in a cheap pair of grey trousers than ruin a good pair of jeans.

anyway, whats wrong with the daily star

our uniform was grey trousers (i refused and wore black for all 5 years) white or pale blue shirt, blue striped tie or a solid dark blue one with a light blue band for prefects and a blue v-neck jumper

the head decided to add a blazer to the uniform when our year was in its final year at the school, we had letters to take home to parents saying that they needed to buy us a £35 blazer, 90% of us outright refused and just binned the letters, the other 10% took them home like good little boys

eventually the head gave up after giving up however many warnings, but whats he gonna do, put the whole year on detention? so the rest of the school wore blazers and we didnt

tbh i think a uniform in a school is a good thing whenever you had mufti days people got skitted due to what they wore and bullying happens enough to people without gettin picked on over choice of clothes too!

Who's back tracking? I stand by it all and my own Daily Star comment was in direct response to your suggestion that I was a muppet that couldn't form my own opinion. When clearly a. the reverse is true and b. It seems more people share my opinion than yours. Perhaps that's because mine is well informed and well presented?

And for the record, it wouldn't matter what colour my name is we'd still be having this discussion.

ok mk1 gaz only your voice counts

oh and PS where doe's it say in my post that i was was calling you a muppet? read it properly. and beleive me i don't back track not to know one.

That's not what I said at all. Everyone's opinion counts that's what makes a reasoned discussion. But there's ways and means of expressing it and just stating that anyone that doesn't agree with you is a muppet that follows others opinions like a sheep is hardly a reasoned argument.

read again. being told BY muppets IE the muppet who so called run this country they coulnd'nt run a BATH hence muppets

Ok, I've read it again and I still see the same.

all you;ve wrote is what the muppets have said and you must beleive it.

What other interpretation would you give to the above than I'm incapable of forming my own opinion, and the thinly veiled suggestion that I also am a muppet by association for believing it?

if you can't see it.where doe's it say YOUR a muppet?. you can form your own opinion like the rest of us but some seem to read in to things and and twist it around. SO where did i call you in person a muppet? beacuse i can't see it anywhere or is it because i never wore a uniform?. again my opinion. uniforms don't help anyone learn any different to non umnform

wearers. and if people don't like my opinion tuff the same as i might not theres. individuality what i said at the start

Having looked at the pronunciation, grammar, and spelling, in this debate, it is quite clear which one had the better education....

Whether that had anything to do with the compulsory wearing of a school uniform is another issue, (morals/values/willingness to learn etc..)
