last year i only ran mine at classic ford show and managed a 13.89 @99.66 mph. That was with a 4speed and a 3.54 diff, i now have a tran-x 5speed and a 4.1 diff in it so not sure if it will be any quicker.

I am going to remove a bit of wait tho by changing my standard front seats for some lighter more supportive ones and also going to remove the radio and speakers.

A may even try it with some slicks, hopefully that will see me doing consistant mid 13's i hope

Good times Daz - I recon you'll comfortably run mid 13's but with no stereo you will have to sing to yourself over the cacophany of carbs! 8)

IF i can finish it in time, i might chuck me Xflow in the "other" project

(as theres no way the harrier will be done  )

aim is 160bhp- 170bhp, so it could be fun :)

Then ill start on GEN 2 :ykt::twisted:

Sounds good mate, but 2 projects are never a good plan! Especially when you haven't even got all the bits for your engine yet!

.....when not in Spa and a couple trackdays trying to get some kind of consistency...

8) So you're going international! That should be interesting. Is there a particular event you'll be attending?

Hello mate, yes, am looking forward to Spa, should be a good trip and will put up a report on here. There’s plenty of familiar faces attending but not all will be in Fords… Last year I did Ford Fair and 2 others via Circuit Days, general events at Silverstone South Circuit. This year I’ll just do 1 more but don’t know when or where yet TBH…

As I’ll be at nigh on all shows hopefully we’ll see you in your car Toby…? Speed Trials…?

I hope to be at the Speed Trials but a lot depends on the insurance company and my paint man.

So how are your lap times comparing to others?

I hope to be in the low 15's this year with the anglebox but i'm building something i hope will be a bit quicker

Another pre-cross for the Anglia? :P

No , a pinto powered Mk2 Escort  I didn't want to fook about with the Anglia as it drives nice as it is , the Escort will be done on a very tight budget :(

Shame about the budget mate, but good news for the Anglia -I'd hate to see you pinto that lil' beauty!!!

How far are you going with the Escort - You know Billy and Posse ran some great times on near standard Pinto's

Whish I had a good enough car to make your list lol

I wish you did too mate :thumbsup:

Steve about the slicks I think you should be fine with a set of Hoosiers as I get plently of grip with mine which shows in my 1.8 60ft time

Do either of you two know Tom Barnes at Pod - he races a very fast, clever budget, Renault 5 Turbo with a light spray of NOS. He had some really gummy tyres - I think Renaults run 13's don't they? He was does great 60 fts with a FWD. Pretty awesome times too. 8)

Crap... Car's heavier than I'd like but first and foremost she's a v-fast  road ... Done some winter book worming so's good time to put theory into practice and get wheel time and consistency rather than slog the poor girl to an inch. An Accusump will help in throwing her around more tho  :

So the saloon is financing your estate then? Shame - you were Gaz's main competitor

Yeah Classic Ford is going to be so good this year - so many good cars coming out... :ykt:

Any pic's of your dads and brothers cars?

I had a friend with a Honda Blackbird bike engine in a westfield with one of those devices - he was having serious oil surge issues and getting through engines - this solved it. To be fair I think bike sumps are bad in car installations because a bike doesn't see surge so much as they lean in the corners. Still a good idea though - a lot cheaper than a wasted entry and a new engine! You'll have to keep us posted Schummy

Got the parts coming together , got a lightened and balanced bottom end , cheap head and cam, 48's , 4.4 diff , going to lighten the shell as much as possible although Gaz might stop talking to me

I have seen a budget looking R5 at the pod, it was faded red, it had that 'fast' look about it that some budget cars do so well. I never thought to look at the tyres.
