I was with dave from retro ford in the fire up lane he was asking me about my estate and you came over hanging off the railings like a monkey if i remember correctly lol!!!

He had some really gummy tyres - I think Renaults run 13's don't they? He was does great 60 fts with a FWD. Pretty awesome times too. Is that the red one ?? No I don't know him Lucky guess! Did you see what tyres he had? I have seen a budget looking R5 at the pod, it was faded red, it had that 'fast' look about it that some budget cars do so well. I never thought to look at the tyres. I think I've seen that car, it's very impressive for what it is Ill be aiming for low 12s in my Fiesta this year

caprinerd Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 i`ll be looking out for dave (smokem) as he`s getting quicker every run he does me im in the process of another rebuild as i throught the crank pulley shared the fly wheel bolts put a hole in the rad and snapped a new engine mount clean off so the rebuild is underway in my unit and i`ll be puting the 45`s on and see if i can get into the 15`s not as quick as most but love doing it now just to beat my own times

Most of us are only racing ourselves. You've just got to beat yourself and it sounds like the "little" disaster has given you the oportunity to go faster - every cloud........!

I sold the car to my nephew who is now running 14.7's without gas. We as a family are not sure if we can compete this season as Gary the driver has housing issues at the mo and we all need to make sure he's ok. I will however, be at EVERY round to see if you can beat what we've already achieved..... LOL

Still FWD. 2.1 Zetec, GT30, big valve head, MTX gearbox, gas if I need it etc... Decent boost controller to limit boost in each gear too. Aiming for very low 12s this year, my last ran 13.0 with less power and more weight! You have a stunning Mk1 by the way that puts in some awesome times

More people hoping for the 12 second fiesta! Sounds interesting It will be a challenge but sure it's defo possible. I know of a couple of FWD Fords aiming for high 11s this season.
