TooAteLeed Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 im glad u asked this, i really want to have my say this year as ive never done it before but where the fook do u start? from what i can gather it sounds like the conservatives are no real use to the working classes but the country is in some state after 12 ish years of labour?
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 20, 2010 Author Admin Report Posted April 20, 2010 I myself was not as impressed as some were with Nick Clegg's speech last week but I do like some of their ideas but am not sure if they can cope with running a government ... having said that, they always do well locally and I generally vote for them when it is local elections. Gordon Brown .... hmm, just don't trust labour anymore - I voted for them last time David Cameron ..... I like some of what he says and he seems a nice bloke but I am stuck with the "posh" Conservative party image and am still not convinced that they are more in touch with the lives of your average person (like me) than they used to be So, for me, the jury is still out
Guest chriscapriman Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 dont know, i'll prob vote labour or lib dem, can never vote tory, hate em hate em hate em my fav group on Retards Club atm http://www.Retards Club.com/pages/Vandalise ... 3521630597

john_3.0s Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 anyone but labour - look at the state of the country; financial melt down (caused by releasing control of the backs to the useless FSA), increasing taxes (look at fuel duty), league tables, quotas, rights for all but the honest working man - to be honest im sick of it. I work hard and pay an awful lot of tax but never ever ever get to see any reward for propping up the exchequers coffers. Im sorry but if it wasnt for middle england this country would be broke - end of story. vote for Lib dems would likely (looking at the poles right now) mean a hung parliment between labour and the libs which frankly terrifies me. sorry its the cons right now for me.
pauln Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Since neither of the 2 main parties can be trusted with a free hand to govern i'm hoping for a hung parliament as it should curb any extreme measures the governing party wants to take. The Tory MP in my ward has a 53% majority that he has held since 1975 (and was one of Thatchers henchmen) so my vote is pretty ineffective as it will only reduce his majority by one vote (oh for proportional representation where your vote will actually be counted). Has anyone else seen UNISONS (not my union, i'm in UNITE) billboards about the Tories proposed cuts? It's just an axe with large blue blade, for the undecided just dwell on that for a little while.
Admin Vista Posted April 20, 2010 Admin Report Posted April 20, 2010 vote for Lib dems would likely (looking at the poles right now) mean a hung parliment between labour and the libs which frankly terrifies me. sorry its the cons right now for me. My sentiments exactly and no need to apologise for your political stand point. I think a Hung parliament would be disastrous for this country. Conservative for me too.

Not trying to be antagonistic here (i know we are politically poles apart here) but could you elaborate on why you think a hung parliament is a bad idea. I think its almost inevitable the Tories will get in this time and i'm seriously worried about how hard they are going to swing the axe. I also think Labour have failed to deliver their promises (a combination of circumstance and incompetence). I think it's about time all parties were forced to work together to secure our countries future (every one in the commons is elected, they should all work together for us). The time for Government and opposition should be over in favour of the greater good.
Admin Vista Posted April 20, 2010 Admin Report Posted April 20, 2010 You've heard the phrase Irish Parliament right? Well it's hard enough getting one political party to recognise what the country needs and its people want............can you imagine what it'd be like with a coalition government? Oh and I don't think it matters who gets in, the axe is going to swing anyway and any politician that claims otherwise is doing what politicians do best, half truths and misinformation.

You have the advantage of me there as I have'nt heard the definition of an Irish Parliament. I was struck by your comment about what the country needs and the people want. I think most people vote for themselves rather than the common good. So you would prefer the axe to be swung hard by one party rather than being restrained by a coalition government, I salute you for being braver than me.
Admin Vista Posted April 20, 2010 Admin Report Posted April 20, 2010 I think the axe is going to be swung hard whoever and whatever happens at this election.

stevepeanut Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 I would cut my own balls off before I voted Tory, I'm working class, have just enough money to survive/pay bills etc and a bit left over for my car and bike. At the end of the day, if you are rich, vote tory they will look after you, but they dont and never will give a damn about the poor and working class. Labour? well I have supported them since I was probs 12 years old, but they have lost control and theres so many things I dont agree with that they have done. Lib dem, I'd give them a chance, they surely cant do any worse than the torys and labour Or I might vote UKIP, I really dont like the fact that europe makes so many decisions about our own country
Mr Sam Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 im not going to bother doesnt matter who gets the title the countrys still fooked its upto the british people to riot and reak anarchy to get anything properly changed but like thats going to happen in a field of sheep i am on a mission to de face a few signs though, fed up of some toff's face spoiling the countryside
rambo67 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Could never bring myself to vote Tory , I've seen how they screw everyone and everything up given half a chance !! As for Labour , they just wanna screw the working man for all they can , cars , booze , fags , mortgages etc etc etc Labour have a MASSIVE majority here coz most people have claimed dole / social for so long they'll all vote for Labour to keep their lazy arses at home
garyv6100e Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 If you want to keep all the dosers on the dole claiming for everything they can vote labour i have just had some nieghbours move a nice enough family but renting a 4 bed detached house on housing benifit and for the 2 years they lived here did not do one days work yet still managed to take their 4 kids to disney land florida for 3 weeks something wrong with the system to allow that to happen my vote is for conservative to sort out the benifit dosers and imigration
caprinerd Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 sorry but i aint voting some may say im wrong for doing it but the way i look at it is to be politicians you need to be able to lie well and feed crap out to the public and why would i want to vote for someone like that
Admin Vista Posted April 21, 2010 Admin Report Posted April 21, 2010 sorry but i aint voting some may say im wrong for doing it but the way i look at it is to be politicians you need to be able to lie well and feed crap out to the public and why would i want to vote for someone like that Simple, one party or another is going to get in. Wouldn't you rather have a say (however) small) in how the country is run for the next four/five years? Voting is very important in british politics and voter apathy is a big problem.......what really makes me laugh though is when the non voters later complain about their lot.
Stu_B Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 A lot of good points raised but I don't think I could bring myself to vote Tories for the reasons above. The country's screwed, it's been screwed for years. We do need a tougher government to sort things out but all they want to do is line their own pockets! If only there was someone out there who was actually looking out for the good of the country
