stevepeanut Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Well my prop has been in for repair for 2 weeks now. Phoned the place on Tuesday and they said they would try and have it done mid week - friday and ring me, but not heard anything. So going into its 3rd week now
FredTransit Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Christ you could have walked to the place I use (near Heathrow) by now!
Jiffer Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 the squeaky wheel gets the oil mate be a pain in the arse and ring every day, they will soon want to get you out of there hair, your paying your money for there service, give um hell
Skimmer Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Nearly 3 weeks i think id give them a bit of stick over the phone.........the bloke thats done my last 4 or 5 does them whilst i stand there and watch him , i just turn up unannounced and he does them and he is about 15 mins away ....
stevepeanut Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 a bit of the rubber doughnut has split off, so it just needs the doughnut replaced and then balanced. I also gave him a mk2 escort auto prop, so he could have used the front part of that and ran it without a doughnut. I guessed a weekish would be a fair time to do it, he said on the phone he was short staffed with people on their holidays, thats why its been delayed. I'll ring him again next week and see what he says.

hotrodhains Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 the staff on holiday is a piss poor excuse m8, he woulda known peeps were gonna have holiday so if he couldn't handle it then he shouldn't have taken the work on! dont put up with it
FredTransit Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Or at least if he knew they were gonna be short staffed, he should have warned you. If you still left it with em, at least then you wouldn't have been soooo pissed off.
hotrodhains Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 i reckon a nice discount should be offered?!
mrspeanut Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 phoned them again today, and got " we haven't got it done yet, we'll try our best to get it done for the weekend, if not it'll be after the bank hol. We are really busy, we apologise, we thankyou for your patience. Big problem is a lot of truck/machine parts come in and need an overnight fix to keep businesses going" So basically I am at the back of a quewe, I'll ring them again thur or fri and see whats happening. If he hasnt got it done, I'll call on the following tuesday and tell him which day I am collecting it, either repaired or unrepaired. (its Steve - using our lases screename)
stevepeanut Posted September 5, 2010 Author Report Posted September 5, 2010 finally got the prop back, took a while but they did a good job, made a hybrid prop from the cortina one and an old mk2 escort auto prop that I had. As well as building it, they cleaned it up (it was minging) and painted it black too. Just fitted it on the car today, so just need to get some tax when I get a few £££ and its back on the road
Admin Vista Posted September 5, 2010 Admin Report Posted September 5, 2010 At least you have it back, I assume they balanced it too?
stevepeanut Posted September 5, 2010 Author Report Posted September 5, 2010 At least you have it back, I assume they balanced it too? yeah balanced and a new centre bearing too, took ages but they did an ace job and he said he'd keep the price lower than normal due to the long time they took to sort it
Kasper Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Cool stuff, getting things cheaper is always good, even if it did take an age!
