Ste-V Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 It was my birthday my last month, and my misses is paying for me to do a rally experience day thing.. Soo, I thought I'd ask here first, who's done one? Naturally it has to be a Mk2 Escort so who recommends where? Had a quick snoop on internet, looks like either Silverstone or the forest one, which is best? I only have £200 to throw at it, so if I was to go for the forest one it would have to be a half day.. Thanks for any help Or, if they're not worth the money, let me know Cheers
tim Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 london rally school near to bicester, google them or look on Retards Club
Admin Vista Posted September 21, 2010 Admin Report Posted September 21, 2010 Are you specifically into rallying? If not, I'd go for a track day experience rather than rallying. For the simple reason that the things you learn about car control on tarmac, you can apply to your every day driving. Less so with rallying.
retrorigg Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 not sure if its changed the last few yrs but my bro in law went on one near york called t.i rally school about 10 yrs ago , to be honest he said they wouldnt let him get out of second gear and held him back, he was a competant autograss driver with a mk2 back in the day , he was dissapointed that he wasnt allowed to give it a bit more umphh, said he wouldnt go again
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 The one in York is near the dragway. My mate went to it and they use Mk2 Escorts. He didn't appear to have any problems about being let out of second gear though.

No idea about this 2nd gear business as I we were all urged to go for it and 3rd gear is needed

I'm into ANYTHING motorsport I've done bangers for a few years, and have always dreamt about rallying, just never had the money to get in to it.. My only other worry is going out, having a go in a rally car, getting hooked, being skint for life Thanks for the replies all, I'll look into it more
