martinmk2 Posted October 22, 2010 Author Report Posted October 22, 2010 Works for me shame about the front wheels drive
Admin Vista Posted October 22, 2010 Admin Report Posted October 22, 2010 I can cope with that, if it's done right it can work. One of the most fun cars I've ever owned was FWD, a VR6 Corrado.
SebringRS Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 looks like a chubby focus with a boot Dont think I'd say no though
SebringRS Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 actually looks more audi TT at the rear
Yeomans22 Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 wrong wheel drive, but when can i take delivery

zetecmk2 Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 is everyone copying audi light angles this year?
samurai Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Looks nothing like a Capri.....they run out of names or something?
BaileyMex Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 if i hear anything at work i'll let you all know, All I can say is that I'd give back my company Mondeo tomorrow for one
NeilT Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 ill beleave it when i see one on the street shame about the front wheel drive but is it drives was well as the focus and mondao then it will b great!!
JAY PS Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Looks very much like a mazda in places ,they tried it with the probe and the Cougar and they never sold well and this is an even braver move.Right in the middle of a economic crisis where the motor industry is on its arse ,launch a car like that . I know i will get shouted down for this ,but the company car drivers of today do not want to drive FORDs anymore ,they will go for Mazda or BMW as Ford is no longer the badge to have .Yes its snob value and im sure theres a lot of you that would love to see a "new Capri " out there but the reality is the original concept in the 60s was ground breaking and there wasnt much if any competition in the uk ,so it sold very well ,today its a different story . All that said i hope im wrong and it does well ,the mustang has worked in the us ,but that is a different market and its rwd .
tom28 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 looks shit and its front wheel drive to put the cherry on the shit cake
Beakster Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I hope it never happens. I don't think Ford Europe are capable of producing anything that can do the Capri name justice. If Ford want to give the Europeans a proper sports coupe they should just sell the Mustang there.
JAY PS Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 The new mustang is shite anyway doesnt go round corners and the ride is being in a haycart
Beakster Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 The new mustang is shite anyway doesnt go round corners and the ride is being in a haycart People have said the same thing about the Capri though.
OldskoolSue Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 i don't like it,it looks nothing like a capri it looks like
john_3.0s Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 errrrrr its PLASTIC just like the wings on an xpack...or a mk2 rs2000...
capri71 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 looks shit and its front wheel drive to put the cherry on the shit cake
grifterkid Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 It just doesn't look right does it...?! I hate to say it but I personally think VW have done a far better job with the Scirocco...! Either way I'd rather spend the money it will cost to get one of these 'new' Capri's on a few tidy originals...!!!
Admin Vista Posted October 25, 2010 Admin Report Posted October 25, 2010 It just doesn't look right does it...?! I hate to say it but I personally think VW have done a far better job with the Scirocco...! Either way I'd rather spend the money it will cost to get one of these 'new' Capri's on a few tidy originals...!!! I disagree. Whilst I don't mind the Scirroco, it just looks like a modern sports coupe and carries over none of the design cues from the mk1 and 2 scirrocos of the 70's and 80's. Take off the VW badges and it could be from any manufacturer. Unlike their revamped Beetle, which whilst I hate, is unmistakably a development of the original Beetle. Same can be said for BMW's MINI, until that god awful Countryman came out recently, it was clearly a design carry over of the original Mini. The same can be said for this interpretation of the Capri, the wind screen, roof line, side and 1/4 windows all scream Capri at me. As does the bonnet shape and the way it interacts with the upper grill, that's pure mk1 capri. I still like it.
