Admin Vista Posted January 15, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 15, 2007 That's a zetec with a BDA look rocker cover right? Looks good, I like the old skool look combined with new skool power and reliability.

Wonder how many of those who where knocking them have Rally Reps .. you know, arches, cage, stripped interior .... English axle and a pinto... He who is innocent cast the first stone
Doc Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Looks the the round ones ! More fakers out there than you could shake a stick at ! I know ! I know ! Im with retro on this one
Gonzo Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Looks cool but just seems a bit too much work just for a bit of bling to me. rather spend the money on a polybush kit or summat that made a difference. if that makes sense.
Anglia68 Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 They annoyed the hell out of me after I spent ages stuffing a real BDA into my Anglia van and at my first show with it all I could hear was "it's one of them Zetecs with a trick cover"
CéDriC Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 They annoyed the hell out of me after I spent ages stuffing a real BDA into my Anglia van and at my first show with it all I could hear was "it's one of them Zetecs with a trick cover" That was annoying, but the cam cover was a great thing for a Old skool look... But too rare, so too expensive...

Mark2Mark Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 They look great Pain in the arse having to take the rocker cover off to top up the oil though

Mark2Mark Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 oops i did not see the link just the photo
Super Sh1te Box Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Think they look cool and keep it looking period with a real sting in the tail. Comments ref replica want the real deal. Who still can afford real minilights or genuine 60/70's performance parts etc, most cars in the scene run some form of copy imitation as the real deal is too much/rare as hens teeth etc. Cant have it all one way
petrolhead01 Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 well as you all know i have one and i love it !! the only reason i put it on was in my opinion the zetec looks too modern for MY car so i decided to make it look more period!!! i have the one that mr hicks made first and was used for all the advertising pics back in the day in classic ford!! the only reason these ever came to being made was he owns one of the eaton yale factory mk 2 s(lucky bar steward) and decided if he was going to continue driving it on the road after an expensive re-build of the bda, that he wanted a everyday engine so he could use it as this , thats when he fitted a 2.0 zetec but really didnt like the way it looks and the rest is history!! some people will critisize him for this but lets face it at least it gets driven and is not like so many other historic cars in a bubble in some rich guys garage and is only there to increase in value to be sold at a later date!! as for filling the oil you have to cut the old rocker cover and move the neck to the bda position and weld up the origonal hole and it also takes alot of modifying the zetec cover to make it fit right but i think its worth it!! tell me this looks wrong! yer its a fake but i own a watch from thailand and that looks King cool too!!!!
