what's wrong with drifting? you could say that classic ford is all about drag racing then?

Just an observation

What 2 pages of osfdc?

or 6 pages of drifting and 4 pages of there cars .

I thought Retards Club was for that sort of shite?

Just an observation

lol I knew that wouldn't be taken well!

I'm not talking about amount of pages Darren just the fact that 2 different mags cover 2 different forms of motorsport. And as for staff cars I (and i'm sure a lot of other people) enjoy reading about real time modifications and ongoing projects. I find it makes it all the more personal, reading about what troubles people have come across and what they did to get around it gives me a good insight into what I'm gonna be up against if I do the same thing.

I, and again i'm sure, a lot of other people enjoy reading about drifting as well as drag racing and if people don't like one or the other then simply don't read about it.

But surely you shouldn't be putting the whole magazine down because it contains a feature you don't like?

Again, Just an observation or an opinion or whatever

I see both sides of the drifting argument.

I loved to read it at first as a family member is involved with the BDC so it was good to read it and find out how a old Ford is coping in the drift world.

then....i got bored and started skipping the pages

if we didnt have the drivers from 200 years ago then your escort/capri/cortina would be no different to a moris marina or princess so a little recognition and history about the racing fords is very much appreciated by me anyway

as said everyone likes different things i think its boaring who cares who one a rally 40 years ago but alot of people like standard cars with loads of history twin cams rs this that and the other i like old cars that are faster than new ones and given a rogger clerk lotus twin cam i would rip the engine out and stuff a v8 in it or sell it but as already said every one likes different things that is what makes it hard for the editors

Posted

but its also what makes the scene interesting as regards the differing stories if you owned a twin cam then i am sure you would like to know all the history about that type of car if you like v8 capris the basil green story is fantastic same as broadspeed etc i love it any way but dont get me wrong, as if i have no interest in a subject then i probably find it as boring as you but i am sure someone loves it thats why its a ford mag and not called retro escort because it has to be diverse everyione has their likes and dislikes i see no place for fiestas in these mags but im sure there are loads of people who would shoot me down.......was that a rant im not even drunk

I personally like to see ALL the old Fords, no matter what they are doing. If I'm perfectly honest though it has been nice not to see the magazines editor on too many pages for the last couple of issues

I have to agree with darren on this one, the mag has wandered far from

its original concept imho, and all of this drift stuff does not really

interest me , and a lot of other people I know in the osf scene.

I would love to see the mag go back to all of those wild modified 'Street'

old skool fords and bashes that it first started to be about.

puddy

ps. Is the mag really not Retro Morley then ?

No ones turned Steve if people want to go off and forget about what the MAG was put there for that's fine simples

I can only think of three people in the classic Ford scene that do or have done drifting in their old skool Ford. There are probably a few more but I do not know of them. I could probably think of 30+ cars that regularly drag race and another 30+ that have at least tried it and only one that moans about it

I know what would feature more heavily if I were to edit a mag.
